   #1. This week's number one is former international forward Ersan Ilyasova (207-87, currently plays in NBA). He was the major contributor in a Milwaukee Bucks' victory against the Portland Trail Blazers (20-20) 110-104 in the NBA in Saturday night's game. Ilyasova had a double-double by scoring 27 points and getting 14 rebounds. He also added 4 assists in 26 minutes on the court. The Milwaukee Bucks have 21-18 record this season. Ilyasova has relatively good stats this year: 9.4ppg, 5.8rpg, 1.5apg, 2FGP: 42.9%, 3FGP: 39.0% and FT: 76.5% in the 37 games he played so far. He played for the Turkish senior national team two years ago.

   #2. Second place goes to former international center Omer Asik (213-86, currently plays in NBA), who plays in the NBA. Asik could not help the Houston Rockets (21-21) in their last game on Friday. Despite his very good performance the Houston Rockets were defeated 105-95 on the road by the Indiana Pacers. Asik recorded a double-double by scoring 22 points and getting 12 rebounds. He also added 3 blocks. This season Asik has relatively solid stats: 10.4ppg, 11.0rpg, 1.1bpg, 2FGP: 53.5% and FT: 55.8%. He played for the Turkish national team in 2011.

   #3. The Turkish player who performed third best last week abroad was an international center Enes Kanter (208-92, college: Kentucky, currently plays in NBA). Kanter led Utah Jazz to a victory against the Cleveland Cavaliers (10-32) 109-98 in the NBA on Saturday night. He scored 14 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in a mere 18 minutes; quite an impressive performance considering it's only Kanter's second season in pro basketball. The Utah Jazz has 22-19 record this season. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. This year Kanter averages: 6.4ppg, 4.2rpg, 2FGP: 54.7% and FT: 71.4% in the 39 games. He is also a member of the Turkish senior national team.

   #4. Forward Deniz Kilicli (206-90, currently plays college basketball in the States) was not able to help the W.Virginia (1-4) in their game against the Iowa State University (3-1) in the NCAA. He recorded 6 points in 19 minutes. The W.Virginia was edged 69-67 in Ames, IA by the Iowa State University. It's Kilicli's fifth season with the team. Kilicli has reliable stats this year: 12.9ppg, 4.2rpg, 1.5apg and 1.4spg in the 19 games. He used to play for the Turkish U20 national team back in 2010.

   #1. Serkan Inan (198-G-86, currently plays in Sweden), who plays in the Swedish Basketligan could not help White Eagles (5-17) in their last game on Friday. Despite Inan's good performance White Eagles was defeated 80-66 on the road by the second-ranked Uppsala Basket. He was the second best scorer with 12 points. Inan also added 5 rebounds. It's Inan's first season with the team. He has reliable stats this year: 12.9ppg, 4.2rpg, 1.5apg and 1.4spg. Inan has a dual citizenship: Turkish and Swedish.

   #2. Kevin Kaspar (183-PG-92, currently plays college basketball in the States) was not able to help the W.Kentucky (5-4) in their game against the Florida Atlantic University (5-4) in the NCAA. Kaspar did not beat the league record on Saturday evening. He scored only 2 points. The W.Kentucky (#3) was edged 65-62 at home by the Florida Atlantic University. Kaspar's stats this season are: 12.9ppg, 4.2rpg, 1.5apg and 1.4spg.

Banvit and Anadolu Efes will clash for the Turkish Cup title on Sunday. They celebrated victories in the semifinal games today. Banvit eked out a 71:68 victory over Galatasaray. Jordan Theodore (182-PG-89, college: Seton Hall) provided 20 points to lead the winners. Banvit recorded a 33:28 halftime lead. Galatasaray denied the deficit in the third term. Banvit and Galatasaray completed the Turkish Cup semifinal picture. Banvit topped Besiktas 66:57 in the quarterfinal clash on Thursday. It was a close game throughout three quarters. Karsiyaka and Anadolu Efes seal Cup semifinal birth - 3 days ago
Karsiyaka and Anadolu Efes are the first Turkish Cup semifinalists. They beat Yesilgiresun and Fenerbahce respectively in the opening quarterfinal clashes on Wednesday. Karsiyaka celebrated an 85:79 victory. They grabbed a 48:31 halftime lead and withheld a furious comeback rally in the second half by Yesilgiresun to claim victory.
