Kayseri and Dynamo Kursk came up with a thrilling clash in Russia tonight to decide on the second semifinalists of EuroCup. Kayseri needed to protect their 15-point victory in Turkey to advance. Dynamo gained a 15-point advantage at the end of regulation to level things up on aggregate. The teams headed into overtime where Kayseri celebrated a two-point victory and advanced into the next round. Zoi Dimitrakou (188-F-87, agency: Josep and Nicolas) knocked down 21 points and grabbed 7 rebounds to lead the winners.
Kayseri looked well in control of their fate in the opening quarter. Having entered the game with a 15-point buffer from the first leg the Turkish team quickly stretched it to as many as 24 following a 23:14 rally. But Dynamo refused to surrender. The Kursk outfit went on a 21:8 run in the second quarter to surge ahead. Dynamo ignited a 22:7 rally in the third quarter to enjoy a 6-point lead on aggregate before the fourth term. Kayseri needed some late heroics from Zoi Dimitrakou to stay in the fight. She notched five points in a row to cap the regulation sending the game into overtime. LaToya Sanders (191-PF-86, college: N.Carolina) and Zoi Dimitrakou teamed up for six points in the extra period to seal the victory for Kayseri.
