Here is the weekly review of the top performing Turkish players, who play currently abroad.


Ersan Ilyasova
Ersan Ilyasova
   #1. This week's number one is former international forward Ersan Ilyasova (207-87, currently plays in NBA). He led Milwaukee Bucks to a victory over the Philadelphia 76ers (18-25) 110-102 in the NBA in Tuesday night's game. Ilyasova was MVP of the game. He had a double-double by scoring 27 points and getting 16 rebounds. Ilyasova also added and 3 steals in 36 minutes on the court. The Milwaukee Bucks have 23-19 record this season. Ilyasova has relatively good stats this year: 10.6ppg, 6.3rpg, 1.6apg, 2FGP: 43.8%, 3FGP: 41.8% and FT: 77.5% in the 40 games he played so far. He played for the Turkish senior national team two years ago.

   #2. Second place goes to former international center Omer Asik (213-86, currently plays in NBA). Asik was the major contributor in a Houston Rockets' victory against the Brooklyn Nets (26-18) 119-106 in the NBA last Saturday. He recorded a double-double by scoring 20 points and getting 16 rebounds. The Houston Rockets have 24-22 record this season. This year Asik has relatively solid stats: 10.2ppg, 11.0rpg, 1.1bpg, 2FGP: 53.7% and FT: 54.4%. He played for the Turkish national team in 2011.

   #3. The Turkish player who performed third best last week abroad was an international center Enes Kanter (208-92, college: Kentucky, currently plays in NBA). Kanter contributed to an Utah Jazz's victory against the Cleveland Cavaliers (13-32) 109-98 in the NBA on Saturday night. He scored 14 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in a mere 18 minutes; quite an impressive performance considering it's only Kanter's second season in pro basketball. The Utah Jazz has 24-20 record this season. This year Kanter's overall stats are: 6.3ppg, 4.0rpg, 2FGP: 55.2%(111-201) and FT: 73.3% in the 42 games. He is also a member of the Turkish senior national team.

Deniz Kilicli
   #4. Forward Deniz Kilicli (206-90, currently plays college basketball in the States), who plays in the NCAA could not help the W.Virginia (2-5) in their last game. Despite his good performance the W.Virginia lost 66-80 on the road to the Oklahoma State University. Kilicli scored 12 points, grabbed 5 rebounds and made 2 blocks in 28 minutes. It's Kilicli's fifth season with the team. This year his total stats are: 6.3ppg and 4.0rpg in the 42 games. Kilicli used to play for the Turkish U20 national team back in 2010.


The list of other players, who all have Turkish passport but never been selected to any of Turkish national teams:

   #1. Kevin Kaspar (183-PG-92, currently plays college basketball in the States), who plays in the NCAA could not help the W.Kentucky (5-6) in their last game on Saturday. Despite Kaspar's good performance the W.Kentucky (#5) was badly defeated 72-53 on the road by the Middle Tennessee State University. He scored 14 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. This season Kaspar averages: 6.3ppg and 4.0rpg.

   #2. Serkan Inan (198-G-86, currently plays in Sweden) was not able to help White Eagles (5-19) in their game against Eco Orebro (5-19) in the Swedish Basketligan. He scored 6 points and added 7 assists. White Eagles was defeated 93-79 in Orebro by the one of league's weakest teams Eco Orebro (#11). It was White Eagles' fourth consecutive loss in a row. Inan has reliable stats this season: 12.6ppg, 4.0rpg, 1.8apg and 1.4spg. He has a dual citizenship: Turkish and Swedish.

28-year old power forward Kenny Kadji (211-F/C-88) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Trabzonspor and receives a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 23. He had the game-high 28 points adding eight rebounds for Trabzonspor in his team's victory, helping them to beat Tofas (#9, 10-13) 89-79.
