The round was exceptionally exciting as five games ended with a tiny margin. There was no lack of excitement in the last round games. The round ended with defeat of the leader, derby games, favorites losing the games and games ending by tiny margin.

The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Usak (14-4) in Giresun on Sunday night. Visitors were edged by fifth ranked Yesilgiresun (12-6) 71-69. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Usak. Usak was trailing by 10 points at halftime but managed to get 2-point lead after three quarters before a 17-13 charge of Yesilgiresun, which allowed them to win the game. They also forced 22 Usak turnovers. American center John Ofoegbu (206-84, college: Idaho St.) scored 19 points and 9 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import guard Alex Gordon (184-85, college: Vanderbilt) chipped in 16 points during the contest. The best for the losing side was American forward Justin Carter (193-87, college: Creighton, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds. Usak's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Yesilgiresun moved-up to fourth place. Usak at the other side still keeps top position with four games lost. Yesilgiresun are looking forward to face Istanbulspor (#17) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Usak will play against Akhisar Bld (#8) and is hoping to win this game.
Very important is a road loss of second ranked Selcuk Universitesi (13-5) against thirteenth ranked Bandirma Kir. (8-10) on Sunday night. Visiting Selcuk Universitesi was defeated by Bandirma Kir. in a tough game in Balikesir 67-73. Point guard Yigitcan Turna (187-87) notched 15 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals to lead the effort and Raymond Sykes supported him with 13 points and 12 rebounds. Even 25 points by American point guard Jeremy Granger (185-90, college: E.Illinois) did not help to save the game for Selcuk Universitesi. Selcuk Universitesi's coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Bandirma Kir. moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with Istanbul B.B. Selcuk Universitesi at the other side keeps the second position with five games lost. They share it with Maliye Milli. Bandirma Kir. will play against higher ranked Gelisim (#9) in Izmir in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Selcuk Universitesi will play at home against Trabzonspor (#6) and hopes to get back on the winning track.

Visiting Maliye Milli was defeated by Akhisar Bld in a tough game in Akhisar 79-85. The best player for the winners was Tyrone Nelson who had a double-double by scoring 19 points, 14 rebounds and 6 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was Hakan Yapar who recorded a double-double by scoring 12 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Akhisar Bld moved-up to fifth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Maliye Milli keeps the second position with five games lost. They share it with Selcuk Univ.. Akhisar Bld will meet league's leader Usak on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Maliye Milli will play against Final Genclik in Bursa and hope to secure a win.
A very interesting game took place in Izmir. It ended with only one-point home defeat of 18th ranked Izmir BSB (1-17) to seventeenth ranked Pi Koleji (4-14) 76-75 on Sunday evening. It was a good game for Kaspars Kambala who saved his team from a defeat with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 15 rebounds (on 12-of-14 shooting from the field). Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Pi Koleji moved-up to sixteenth place. Newly promoted Izmir BSB stay dead last with 17 lost games. Pi Koleji's next round opponent will be higher ranked Pertevniyal (#14) in Istanbul and it may be quite challenging game. Izmir BSB will play on the road against Balikesir (#11).
Important game to mention about took place in Trabzon. Eleventh ranked Balikesir (9-9) saved a 2-point victory on the road edging higher ranked Trabzonspor (11-7) 68-66 on Sunday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Trabzonspor. Robert Lowery had a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners. Trabzonspor's coach Hasan Ozmeric tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Balikesir moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Final Genclik. Loser Trabzonspor dropped to the fifth position with seven games lost. Balikesir will face bottom-ranked Izmir BSB (#18) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Trabzonspor will play against Selcuk Universitesi (#3) in Konya and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

There were no shocking results in the other games in round 18: Istanbul B.B. won against Darussafaka on the opponent's court 89-80. Baskent Genclik unfortunately lost to Gelisim in a home game 75-79. Istanbulspor recorded a loss to Pertevniyal on the road 71-73. Final Genclik defeated Vestel on its own court 93-91.
The most impressive stats of the last round was 28 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists by Ahmet Bugrahan of Istanbul B.B..


Darussafaka - Istanbul B.B. 80-89

There was an upset when higher ranked Darussafaka (11-7) was defeated at home by twelfth ranked Istanbul B.B. (8-10) 89-80 on Sunday. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Istanbul B.B. dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Darussafaka's 32. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Guard Ahmet Bugrahan (-94) scored 28 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and American power forward Arthur Johnson (206-81, college: Missouri) chipped in 20 points and 11 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was American guard Marcus Hall (185-85, college: Colorado) with 12 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists and swingman Cihan Amasyali (191-83) scored 23 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Istanbul B.B. maintains twelfth position with 8-10 record, which they share with Bandirma Kir. Darussafaka lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fifth place with seven games lost. Istanbul B.B. will face Baskent Genclik (#15) in Ankara in the next round. Darussafaka will play on the road against Vestel (#7) in Manisa and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

A very interesting game took place in Izmir. It ended with only one-point home defeat of 18th ranked Izmir BSB (1-17) to seventeenth ranked Pi Koleji (4-14) 76-75 on Sunday evening. The guests were ahead by 10 points but lost the second period ending it with a 5-point deficit before their 23-17 run, which allowed them to win the game. Pi Koleji outrebounded Izmir BSB 42-31 including a 29-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a good game for Latvian center Kaspars Kambala (206-78, college: UNLV, agency: Alti Sport) who saved his team from a defeat with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 15 rebounds (on 12-of-14 shooting from the field). Halit Serdar Gungor (-77) contributed with a double-double by scoring 11 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Mustafa Surmen (-88) replied with 18 points and 6 assists and forward Erdinc Gul (200-81) added 13 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Izmir BSB. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Pi Koleji moved-up to sixteenth place. Newly promoted Izmir BSB stay dead last with 17 lost games. Pi Koleji's next round opponent will be higher ranked Pertevniyal (#14) in Istanbul and it may be quite challenging game. Izmir BSB will play on the road against Balikesir (#11).

Final Genclik's coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. The best for the losing side was forward Justin Knox (205-89, college: N.Carolina) with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds and guard Antabia Waller (188-88, college: Auburn) scored 19 points and 6 rebounds. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Final Genclik maintains tenth position with 9-9 record, which they share with Balikesir. Loser Vestel dropped to the fifth place with seven games lost. Final Genclik will face league's second-placed Maliye Milli in Ankara in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
