The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Istanbul: Galatasaray (#2) and Istanbul Universitesi (#8). Galatasaray (15-3) smashed visiting Istanbul Universitesi (8-10) by 45 points 84-39. The game without a history. Galatasaray led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Istanbul Universitesi to just 4 points in third quarter and to 14 points in second half. They outrebounded Istanbul Universitesi 41-20 including a 31-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Vincentian-Spanish center Sancho Lyttle (192-83, college: Houston) had a double-double by scoring 17 points and 15 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Belgian center Ann Wauters (194-80, agency: Josep and Nicolas) chipped in 9 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was Russian center Irina Osipova (196-81) with 13 points and 6 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Galatasaray maintains second position with 15-3 record having just two points less than leader Fenerbahce. Istanbul Universitesi at the other side keeps the eighth place with ten games lost. Galatasaray are looking forward to face Besiktas (#12) in Istanbul in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Mersin - Ceyhan Bld 95-74

Rather expected game when 6th ranked Ceyhan Bld (9-9) was crushed on the road by fourth ranked Mersin (13-5) 95-74. It looked good early as Ceyhan Bld took an 9-point lead at the end of first quarter. Tarsus Bld - Antakya 69-64

Very predictable result in Mersin where fifth ranked Tarsus Bld (12-6) defeated 10th ranked Antakya (7-11) 69-64. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 21-15. But Antakya won second period 16-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening.
