There was no lack of interesting games this round. The round ended with derby games and favorites losing the games.

TB2L top team - Selcuk Universitesi (16-5) managed to deliver another win on Wednesday. This time they beat fifteenth ranked Pertevniyal (7-14) in Konya 77-66. The hosts trailed by 4 points at the halftime before their 47-32 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Selcuk Universitesi forced 19 Pertevniyal turnovers. American Bill Clark (195-88, college: Duquesne) stepped up with a triple-double by scoring 15 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists for the winners and forward Hadi Ozdemir (203-83) chipped in 19 points. Selcuk Universitesi's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was American forward Anthony Brown (203-86, college: Oklahoma St., agency: KMG Sports Management) with 19 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Selcuk Universitesi have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain first place with 16-5 record, which they share with Usak. Pertevniyal lost third consecutive game. They keep the fifteenth position with 14 games lost. Selcuk Universitesi is looking forward to face Yesilgiresun (#4) in Giresun in the next round. Pertevniyal will play at home against Gelisim (#8) in Izmir and is hoping to prove to their supporters that they can break losing series.
The game in Balikesir was also worth to mention about. Fourth ranked Yesilgiresun (15-6) played at the court of 8th ranked Balikesir (11-10). Yesilgiresun managed to secure a 7-point victory 88-81. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Balikesir. American guard Alex Gordon (184-85, college: Vanderbilt) nailed 34 points (!!!) and 4 assists for the winning side and Oguz Erdogan accounted for 15 points. American point guard Robert Lowery (188-87, college: Dayton) came up with 25 points for Balikesir in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Yesilgiresun have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Maliye Milli. Balikesir at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the tenth position with ten games lost. Yesilgiresun will play against league's leader Selcuk Universitesi in Konya in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Balikesir will play on the road against Akhisar Bld (#5) and hopes to get back on the winning track.

Vestel managed to escape with a 2-point win 65-63 on Wednesday evening. Host team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Bandirma Kir.. The best player for the winners was Kerem Ozkan who scored 20 points and 7 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Raymond Sykes who recorded 17 points and 8 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Vestel moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Akhisar Bld. Loser Bandirma Kir. keeps the eleventh position with 11 games lost. They share it with Baskent Genclik. Vestel will meet Trabzonspor (#9) on the road in the next round. Bandirma Kir. will play against Final Genclik in Bursa and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
An interesting game took place in Ankara where higher ranked Akhisar Bld (13-8) was upset on the court of sixteenth ranked Pi Koleji (6-15) 87-79. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Akhisar Bld. It was a good game for Vincent Grier who led his team to a victory with 22 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Pi Koleji's coach Levent Lule allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Pi Koleji maintains sixteenth place with 6-15 record. Akhisar Bld at the other side keeps the fifth position with eight games lost. Pi Koleji's next round opponent will be league's second-placed Usak on the road and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Akhisar Bld will play against Balikesir.
17th ranked Istanbulspor (3-18) was outscored at home by second ranked Usak (16-5) with the biggest margin this round 73-41 on Wednesday night. Justin Carter stepped up and scored 11 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Usak's coach felt very confident that he used 10 players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Usak keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Selcuk Univ. Istanbulspor lost their twelfth game in a row. They keep the seventeenth place with 18 games lost. Usak will face Pi Koleji (#16) in Ankara in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Istanbulspor will play at home against Maliye Milli in Ankara.

There were no shocking results in the rest of the games of round 21: Darussafaka lost to Maliye Milli on the opponent's court 82-97. Istanbul B.B. unfortunately lost to Trabzonspor in a home game 66-71. Baskent Genclik managed to beat Final Genclik on the road 67-59. Gelisim defeated Izmir BSB on its own court 96-78.
The most impressive stats of the last round was 29 points and 11 rebounds by Jermaine Dearman of Gelisim.


Vestel - Bandirma Kir. 65-63

Pi Koleji - Akhisar Bld 87-79

An interesting game took place in Ankara where higher ranked Akhisar Bld (13-8) was upset on the court of sixteenth ranked Pi Koleji (6-15) 87-79. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Akhisar Bld. Akhisar Bld was ahead by 11 points at the halftime before a 54-35 second half run of Pi Koleji. Strangely Akhisar Bld outrebounded Pi Koleji 44-31 including 18 on the offensive glass. 24 personal fouls committed by Akhisar Bld helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for American swingman Vincent Grier (195-83, college: Minnesota) who led his team to a victory with 22 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Latvian center Kaspars Kambala (206-78, college: UNLV, agency: Alti Sport) contributed with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Four Pi Koleji players scored in double figures. Pi Koleji's coach Levent Lule allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American forward Tyrone Nelson (206-85, college: N.Mexico St.) answered with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 17 rebounds and guard Serdar Yavuz (184-82) added 16 points in the effort for Akhisar Bld. Pi Koleji maintains sixteenth place with 6-15 record. Akhisar Bld at the other side keeps the fifth position with eight games lost. Pi Koleji's next round opponent will be league's second-placed Usak on the road and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Akhisar Bld will play against Balikesir.

Rather predictable result when tenth ranked Trabzonspor (12-9) defeated on the road 14th ranked Istanbul B.B. (8-13) 71-66 on Wednesday. The guests trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 5-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 71-66. Istanbul B.B. was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Croatian center Jurica Zuza (207-78, agency: Alti Sport) stepped up and scored 21 points and 9 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) for the winners and forward Gokhan Orcun Tunca (201-80) chipped in 15 points and 5 rebounds. Four Trabzonspor players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American power forward Arthur Johnson (206-81, college: Missouri) with 27 points and the other American import forward Jayme Miller (203-85) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 12 rebounds. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Trabzonspor moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Darussafaka and Gelisim. Istanbul B.B. lost their third game in a row. Izmir BSB was better in fourth quarter 22-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Izmir BSB was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch.
