Oksana
Zakalyuzhnaya
Experienced Russian Oksana Zakalyuzhnaya (198-C-77) had a great game in the last round for Mersin and that's her to receive a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 19.
The 35-year old center had a double-double of 22 points and ten rebounds, while her team crushed Samsun (#13, 3-16) with 21-point margin 81-60. Mersin maintains the 4th position in Turkish TKBL. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Mersin will need more victories to improve their 14-5 record. It was one of impressive evenings for Zakalyuzhnaya as usually she does not deliver so high stats. Oksana Zakalyuzhnaya averages this season 9.3ppg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was another Mersin's star - 26-year old American forward Erlana Larkins (185-F-86). Larkins impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 11 points and 19 rebounds. Of course together with Zakalyuzhnaya she helped Mersin with another comfortable win outscoring the lower-ranked Samsun (#13, 3-16) 81-60. Mersin's 4th position in the standings has not changed. Her team's 14-5 record is not bad at all. Larkins is a newcomer at Mersin and it seems she did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last round was Danielle Marie Robinson (178-G-89) of Tarsus Bld (#5). Robinson scored 18 points and passed nine assists. She was a key player of Tarsus Bld, leading her team to a 87-84 win against the higher-ranked Fenerbahce (#1, 17-2). Tarsus Bld needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 13 victories and 6 lost games. Robinson has a great season in Turkey. After 19 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in assists with 4.9apg (3rd best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Irina Osipova (196-C-81) of Istanbul Univ. - 13 points, 11 rebounds and 2 assists
5. Melisa Can (188-F-84) of Tarsus Bld - 21 points and 6 rebounds
6. Carolyn Swords (198-C-89) of Ceyhan Bld - 16 points and 15 rebounds
7. Birsel Vardarli (175-G-84) of Fenerbahce - 13 points, 4 rebounds and 8 assists
8. Essence Carson (183-G-86) of Istanbul Univ. - 20 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists
9. Gizem Yavuz (170-PG-88) of Antakya - 13 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists
10. Doneeka Hodges-Lewis (175-PG-82) of Canik Bld - 20 points, 2 rebounds and 2 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
