The Regular Season in TKB2L just ended. There were many interesting games last round. The round ended with favorites losing the games and even winless team recording their first victory.

Third-ranked Nallihan (13-3) made lots of trouble for first ranked Altay Konak (17-1) in Izmir on Sunday. Altay Konak managed to secure only three-point victory 78-75. However their fans expected easier game. Nallihan cut a 13-point halftime deficit to three at the end of the game. Altay Konak dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Nallihan's 36. Altay Konak forced 19 Nallihan turnovers and outrebounded them 45-29 including 16 on the offensive glass. The best player for the winners was American forward LaToya Thomas (188-81, college: Mississippi St.) who had a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 14 rebounds. Guard Deniz Boz (172-82) chipped in 12 points and 6 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American power forward Sharon Houston (191-88, college: Indiana NW) who recorded a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!) and 15 rebounds. Nallihan's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Altay Konak have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They maintain first position in Group A with 17-1 record. Nallihan at the other side keeps the third place with three games lost.
An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Ankara. Second ranked Orman faced one of their biggest challengers Bursa BSB. Host Orman (13-3) defeated guests from Bursa (12-4) 79-63. It was a good game for American power forward Chasity Melvin (191-76, college: N.Carolina St., agency: Merit Sports) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Ayse Ivegin contributed with 18 points for the winners. American center Whitney Jones (183-87, college: Arkansas) replied with 19 points and 8 rebounds for Bursa BSB. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Newly promoted Orman maintains second position in Group B with 13-3 record having six points less than leader Cankaya. Bursa BSB at the other side keeps the third place with four games lost.
An interesting game was played in Canakkale where host Bigaspor (#8) won against higher ranked Sirince 57-53 on Sunday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Sirince. Muge Gozde Inan had a double-double by scoring 15 points, 12 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals to lead the charge for the winners. The best for the losing side was Benan Uyar with 11 points. Bigaspor (6-12) moved-up to seventh place in Group C. Sirince at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the fourth position with six games lost.
Nigde Turk Telekom can celebrate finally their first win this season after 17 consecutive loses. The victory is especially important as it came on the road game in Sanliurfa, where they defeated Harran Uni. (3-14) 60-51. Saliha Bilen notched a double-double by scoring 25 points and 18 rebounds to lead the effort. Nigde Turk Telekom's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Nigde Turk Telekom maintains tenth position in Group C with 1-17 record. It was Harran Uni.'s sixth loss in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the ninth place with 14 games lost.
Leader Orduspor delivered the fifteenth victory on Sunday night. This time they beat 6th ranked Mersin Univ. (7-9) 76-60. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Mersin Univ.. The best player for the winners was Miranda Ayim who scored 16 points and 8 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Orduspor's coach used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. They have an impressive ten-game winning streak. Orduspor maintains first position in Group B with 15-1 record. Loser Mersin Univ. keeps the sixth place with nine games lost.

Rest of the games of round 18 were quite predictable and ended without any surprises. Here they are:
In Group A Celtispor crushed Bakospor in Bursa 20-0. Yunus was smashed by Botas at home 0-20.
In Group B Anadolu Univ. destroyed Nevsehir Uni. on the opponent's court 67-44.
In Group A Burhaniye Bld unfortunately lost to Dizdar in a home game 59-75. Yalova was rolled over 55 Genclik on the road 57-78.
In Group B winless Harranspor was crushed by Izmir BSB on its own court 28-89.
In Group C Edirne smashed Tekkekoy in a road game 114-41. Gure won against Balcova at home 68-58. Sakarya was outscored by Cankaya on the opponent's court 99-52.
The best stats of 18th round was 22 points and 20 rebounds by Susan Lester of Edirne.


Group A
Bakospor - Celtispor 0-20

The game between closely ranked teams ended with bottom-ranked Bakospor's (0-16) home loss to ninth ranked Celtispor (2-16) 0-20 on Saturday. Newly promoted Celtispor maintains ninth position in Group A with 2-16 record. Loser Bakospor still closes the standings with 16 games lost.

Yunus - Botas 0-20

No shocking result in a game in Karaman where second ranked Botas (15-2) smashed 7th ranked Yunus (5-12) 20-0 on Sunday. Botas have an impressive 12-game winning streak. Newly promoted Botas maintains second position in Group A with 15-2 record having just three points less than leader Cankaya. Yunus lost sixth consecutive game. Yunus at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the seventh place with 12 games lost.

Nevsehir Uni. - Anadolu Univ. 44-67

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 8th ranked Nevsehir Uni.'s (2-14) home loss to seventh ranked Anadolu Univ. (5-11) 44-67 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Anadolu Univ.. Nevsehir Uni. was better in fourth quarter 20-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Nevsehir Uni. to just 3 points in third quarter. Anadolu Univ. held Nevsehir Uni. to an opponent 24.6 percent shooting from the field compared to 38.7 percent accuracy of the winners. They outrebounded Nevsehir Uni. 56-36 including a 40-25 advantage in defensive rebounds. Izmir BSB led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Harranspor to just 2 points in third quarter. Izmir BSB held Harranspor to an opponent 20.4 percent shooting from the field compared to 50.0 percent accuracy of the winners. Izmir BSB forced 35 Harranspor turnovers. Nigde Turk Telekom can celebrate finally their first win this season after 17 consecutive loses. The victory is especially important as it came on the road game in Sanliurfa, where they defeated Harran Uni. (3-14) 60-51. Harran Uni. was tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. They outrebounded Harran Uni. 44-32 including 30 on the defensive glass. Saliha Bilen (-95) notched a double-double by scoring 25 points and 18 rebounds to lead the effort and Nevriye Ozbinar (-93) supported her with 19 points and 8 rebounds. Nigde Turk Telekom's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even a double-double of 33 points (!!!) and 18 rebounds by Mihrace Bugdayci (-92) did not help to save the game for Harran Uni.. Merve Cakir added 5 points and 9 rebounds. Nigde Turk Telekom maintains tenth position in Group C with 1-17 record. It was Harran Uni.'s sixth loss in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the ninth place with 14 games lost.
