The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Istanbul: Galatasaray (#4) and Anadolu Efes (#5). Galatasaray (15-3) won against visiting Anadolu Efes (14-4) 77-70. Anadolu Efes trailed by 13 points after 3 quarters before a 22-16 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 70-77 at the end of the game. Galatasaray made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Galatasaray outrebounded Anadolu Efes 41-25 including a 27-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Senegalese center Boniface Ndong (213-77) had a double-double by scoring 16 points and 13 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Puerto Rican point guard Carlos Arroyo (188-79, college: FIU, agency: Interperformances) chipped in 15 points and 5 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was American point guard Jordan Farmar (188-86, college: UCLA) with 17 points. Galatasaray have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Karsiyaka. Anadolu Efes at the other side keeps the fifth position with four games lost. Galatasaray is looking forward to face Olin Edirne (#14) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Anadolu Efes will play against Antalya (#15) and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
Bottom-ranked Olin Edirne managed to get a fourth victory, breaking the eight-game losing streak. This time they won against fifteenth-ranked Hacettepe in Ankara 70-62. Greek forward Christos Tapoutos (203-82) notched 19 points and 7 rebounds to lead the effort and Artsiom Parakhouski supported him with 12 points, 12 rebounds and 4 blocks. Even 15 points and 7 rebounds by American forward Ricardo Marsh (207-81, college: ODU) did not help to save the game for Hacettepe. Olin Edirne (4-14) moved-up to fourteenth place, which they share with Antalya. Hacettepe at the other side dropped to the bottom position with 15 games lost. Olin Edirne will play against higher ranked Galatasaray (#4) in Istanbul in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Hacettepe will play on the road against Erdemir (#8) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
An interesting game took place in Antalya where higher ranked Aliaga (6-12) was upset on the court of fifteenth ranked Antalya (4-14) 83-78 on Saturday. The best player for the winners was Reha Oz who scored 22 points and 9 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Tu Holloway who recorded 21 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Aliaga's coach Burak Biyiktay rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Antalya moved-up to fourteenth place, which they share with Olin Edirne. Aliaga lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the tenth position with 12 games lost. Antalya will meet higher ranked Anadolu Efes (#5) in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Aliaga will play against Turk Telekom (#13) in Ankara and hope to secure a win.

The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Banvit BK have an impressive nine-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Fener.Ulker. Erdemir at the other side keeps the eighth place with 11 games lost. Banvit BK's next round opponent will be TED Kolejliler (#7) in Ankara where they are favorite. Erdemir will play at home against Hacettepe in Ankara.

There were no shocking results in the other games in round 18: Fener.Ulker won against Mersin on the opponent's court 81-77. Tofas lost to defending champion Besiktas in a home game 62-74. Karsiyaka rolled over Turk Telekom on the road 84-65. Gaziantep was defeated by TED Kolejliler on its own court 79-86.
The most impressive stats of the last round was 18 points, 16 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals by Joey Dorsey of Gaziantep.



Mersin - Fener.Ulker 77-81

Very expected game in Akdeniz where 11th ranked Mersin (5-13) was defeated by second ranked Fenerbahce Ulker (16-2) 81-77. Mersin was tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. Fenerbahce Ulker made 20-of-23 charity shots (87.0 percent) during the game. It was a good game for Bosnian-Croatian Bojan Bogdanovic (203-89) who led his team to a victory with 13 points and 4 assists. Australian center David Andersen (212-80) contributed with 17 points for the winners. Five Fenerbahce Ulker players scored in double figures. Fenerbahce Ulker's coach Simone Pianigiani allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Naturalized American forward Ali Karadeniz (203-80, college: Arizona) replied with 24 points and 7 rebounds and the former international center Mutlu Demir (210-87) added 9 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Mersin. Fenerbahce Ulker have a solid four-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Banvit BK. Mersin lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the eleventh place with 13 games lost. Fenerbahce Ulker's next round opponent will be Besiktas (#6) in Istanbul where they are favorite. It looked good early as Erdemir took an 8-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Banvit BK took control and eventually winning the game that evening by 24 points. They dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Erdemir's 38. Banvit BK players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Erdemir's players. It was a good game for American guard Keith Simmons (196-85, college: Holy Cross, agency: Interperformances) who led his team to a victory with 14 points. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 16-of-20 charity shots (80.0 percent) during the game. But then Karsiyaka had a 24-10 second period charge getting the lead and Turk Telekom was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 65-84. Karsiyaka dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Turk Telekom's 30. They outrebounded Turk Telekom 45-25 including a 17-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a good game for American point guard Bobby Dixon (178-83, college: Troy, agency: Beo Basket) who led his team to a victory with 8 points, 11 rebounds and 8 assists.
