Here is the weekly review of the top performing Turkish players, who play currently abroad.


Ersan Ilyasova
Ersan Ilyasova
   #1. This week's number one is former international forward Ersan Ilyasova (207-87, currently plays in NBA), who plays in the NBA. He could not help the Milwaukee Bucks (26-28) in their last game. Despite Ilyasova's very good performance the Milwaukee Bucks were edged in an overtime 113-111 on the road by the Brooklyn Nets. He was the second best scorer with 21 points. Ilyasova also added 9 rebounds and dished 3 assists in 44 minutes on the court. It was Bucks' third consecutive loss in a row. Ilyasova has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages: 11.6ppg, 6.4rpg, 1.7apg, 2FGP: 45.5%, 3FGP: 44.8% and FT: 75.7% in the 52 games he played so far. Ilyasova played for the Turkish senior national team two years ago.

Enes Kanter

   #2. Second place goes to an international center Enes Kanter (208-92, college: Kentucky, currently plays in NBA), who plays in the NBA. He was not able to help the Utah Jazz (31-25) in their last game on Saturday. Despite Kanter's very good performance the Utah Jazz was defeated 107-94 in Los Angeles by the Clippers. He scored 15 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. Kanter's overall stats this season are: 6.4ppg, 4.1rpg, 2FGP: 54.1% and FT: 75.3%. He is in the roster of the Turkish senior national team.

   #3. The Turkish player who performed third best last week abroad was former international center Omer Asik (213-86, currently plays in NBA). Asik contributed to a Houston Rockets' victory against the Brooklyn Nets (33-23) 106-96 in the NBA on Friday night. He had a double-double by scoring 10 points and getting 11 rebounds in 30 minutes. The Houston Rockets have 31-27 record this season. It's Asik's first year with the team. Asik has relatively good stats this year: 10.3ppg, 11.5rpg, 1.1bpg, 2FGP: 53.5% and FT: 55.8% in the 58 games. He played for the Turkish national team two years ago.

   #4. Forward Deniz Kilicli (206-90, currently plays college basketball in the States) led W.Virginia to a 2-point victory against the Texas Tech University (2-12) 66-64 in the NCAA in Saturday night's game. Kilicli scored 25 points and grabbed 8 rebounds. The West Virginia University has 6-9 conference record this season. There are only four games left until the end of the NCAA Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. Kilicli is one of the most experienced players in a team as it's his fifth year in W.Virginia's roster. This season he has relatively solid stats: 10.3ppg, 11.5rpg and 1.1bpg. Kilicli used to play for the Turkish U20 national team back in 2010.

   #1. Kevin Kaspar (183-PG-92, currently plays college basketball in the States), who plays in the NCAA could not help the W.Kentucky (9-9) to beat the Florida International University (10-8). He scored 6 points and added 4 passes in 22 minutes. The W.Kentucky (#4) lost 82-87 on the road to the Florida International University. There are only two games left until the end of the NCAA Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. Kaspar has reliable stats this year: 10.3ppg, 11.5rpg and 1.1bpg in the 58 games he played so far.

   #2. Kemal Dincer (190-G, currently studies in the States) was not able to help the TCU (1-12) in their game against the University of Kansas (11-3) in the NCAA. He did not beat the league record on Saturday evening. Dincer scored only 2 points. The TCU was crushed 74-48 in Lawrence, KS by the University of Kansas. It was TCU's fourth consecutive loss in a row. There are only four games left until the end of the NCAA Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial. Dincer has reliable stats this season: 10.3ppg, 11.5rpg and 1.1bpg.

   #3. Baris Aktas (193-F-91, currently plays in Romania) managed to help CSU Atlassib Sibiu in a victory against the closely-ranked Timisoara (11-10) 82-76 in the Romanian Liga Nationala in Saturday night's game. He scored only 1 points in 16 minutes. CSU Atlassib Sibiu (12-11) is placed ninth in the Liga Nationala. This year Aktas' overall stats are: 1.4ppg and 1.3rpg in the 14 games. He has a dual citizenship: Turkish and Romanian.

Duzce Belediye (TBL) inked 28-year old American (has also Jamaican passport) power forward Kyle Hunt (208-104kg-89, college: Oklahoma S&A, agency: Octagon Europe) from Yalova Bld. In 34 TBL games in Turkey he averaged impressive 18.0ppg, 7.5rpg, 1.1apg and 1.0spg last season. A very good year in his career as he was selected to Eurobasket.com All-Turkish TBL Honorable Mention. Duzce Belediye (TBL) signed 29-year old American point guard Corin Henry (178-88, college: Tarleton State, agency: Octagon Europe). He played last season at ALM Evreux Basket in French ProB. In 39 games he had very impressive stats: 16.1ppg, 2.9rpg, 5.3apg and 2.3spg. Henry helped them to make it to the semifinals. Regatas Corrientes (LigaA) agreed terms with 32-year old American point guard Leemire Goldwire (184-88kg-85, college: Charlotte, agency: HMS). He played last season at Akhisar Bld in Turkish TBL league. In 33 games he had very impressive stats: 15.9ppg, 3.5rpg, 3.0apg and 1.1spg.
