There were many interesting games last round. The round ended with derby games and favorites losing the games.

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Fenerbahce Ulker as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Fenerbahce Ulker edged 4th ranked Karsiyaka in Istanbul 78-76. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Karsiyaka. Fenerbahce Ulker looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was American-FYR Macedonian point guard Bo McCalebb (178-85, college: New Orleans) who scored 17 points and 4 assists. Bosnian-Croatian Bojan Bogdanovic (203-89) chipped in 15 points and 5 assists. Fenerbahce Ulker's coach Ertugrul Erdogan used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American point guard Bobby Dixon (178-83, college: Troy, agency: Beo Basket) produced 29 points and 4 assists for the guests. Fenerbahce Ulker (18-2) have an impressive six-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Banvit BK. Karsiyaka at the other side keeps the fourth place with four games lost. They share the position with Anadolu Efes. Karsiyaka will play next round against Gaziantep trying to get back on the winning streak. Fenerbahce Ulker will try to continue on its current victory against tenth ranked Tofas in Bursa.
Twelfth-ranked Mersin (5-15) made lots of trouble for second ranked Banvit BK (18-2) in Akdeniz. The visitors from Balikesir managed to secure only two-point victory 92-90. However their fans expected much easier game. American-Azerbaijani center Charles Davis (205-84, college: Alabama) orchestrated the victory by scoring 24 points and 6 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). Serkan Erdogan contributed with 17 points for the winners. Banvit BK's coach Orhun Ene allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Naturalized American forward Ali Karadeniz (203-80, college: Arizona) replied with 26 points and 7 rebounds for Mersin. Banvit BK have an impressive 11-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Fener.Ulker. Mersin lost sixth consecutive game. They dropped to the thirteenth place with 15 games lost. They share the position with Olin Edirne. Banvit BK will play against Besiktas (#6) in Istanbul in the next round where they are favorite. Mersin will play at home against Hacettepe (#16) in Ankara and hopes to get back on the winning track.
Eighth-ranked Aliaga (7-13) made lots of trouble for fifth ranked Anadolu Efes (16-4) on Sunday. The visitors from Istanbul managed to secure only two-point victory 59-57. However their fans expected easier game. Worth to mention a great performance of Dusko Savanovic who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 5 rebounds. Anadolu Efes' coach Oktay Mahmudi used entire bench in such tough game. Torin Francis responded with 9 points and 20 rebounds. Anadolu Efes moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Karsiyaka. Loser Aliaga keeps the eighth position with 13 games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Anadolu Efes will meet at home Turk Telekom (#12) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Aliaga will play against Olin Edirne (#14) and hope to secure a win.
Bottom-ranked Olin Edirne managed to get a fifth victory. This time they won against fourteenth-ranked Antalya 71-59. The winners were led by Filip Videnov who scored that evening 23 points. Olin Edirne (5-15) moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with Mersin. Antalya at the other side dropped to the fifteenth position with 16 games lost. Olin Edirne's next round opponent will be higher ranked Aliaga (#8) at home and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Antalya will play against Erdemir (#9).
We should mention about the upset which took place in Gaziantep, where higher ranked Besiktas (12-8) lost to eleventh ranked Gaziantep (7-13) in a road game 66-76 on Sunday. The best player for the winners was Mutlu Akpinar who scored 16 points and 7 rebounds. Besiktas' coach Erman Kunter rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Gaziantep moved-up to eighth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Defending champion Besiktas keeps the sixth position with eight games lost. Gaziantep will face higher ranked Karsiyaka (#5) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.

Rest of the games of round 20 were very predictable and ended without any surprises. Here they are:
Tofas was defeated by Turk Telekom in Ankara 76-70. Galatasaray smashed Erdemir at home 84-61. TED Kolejliler won against Hacettepe on the opponent's court 92-85.



Fener.Ulker - Karsiyaka 78-76

Galatasaray led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was American swingman Jamont Gordon (193-87, college: Mississippi St.) who scored 21 points and 4 assists. Serbian Milan Macvan (205-89, agency: INVICTUS Sports Group) chipped in 16 points. American swingman Sean Marshall (198-85, college: Boston Coll.) produced 14 points and 5 rebounds and naturalized Serbian center Emre Bayav (212-87) added 8 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Galatasaray have an impressive seven-game winning streak. Very expected game in Ankara where 15th ranked Hacettepe (4-16) was defeated by seventh ranked TED Kolejliler (11-9) 92-85 on Saturday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Hacettepe won third quarter 17-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. TED Kolejliler made 18-of-21 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. TED Kolejliler outrebounded Hacettepe 42-27 including a 35-19 advantage in defensive rebounds.
