American-Azerbaijani Charles Davis (205-C-84) had a very impressive game in the last round for league's second-best Banvit BK and that's him to receive a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 20.
The 28-year old center had the game-high 24 points adding six rebounds and two assists for Banvit BK in his team's victory, helping them to edge out Mersin (#13, 5-15) 92-90. Banvit BK maintains the 2nd position in Turkish TBL. Banvit BK has a very good season and are considered to have a run for the championship title. They improved their record to 18-2. In the team's last game Davis had a remarkable 75.0% from 2-point range. He has many years of experience at Banvit BK, through which he has constantly improved. Charles Davis averages this season 13.6ppg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 26-year old American power forward Will Thomas (203-PF-86, agency: Two Points) of Karsiyaka. Thomas impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 18 points and 10 rebounds. Bad luck as Karsiyaka was edged by the higher-ranked Fener.Ulker (#1, 18-2) 78-76. This loss caused Karsiyaka to drop to 5th position in the standings. It was just his team's 4th loss this season, while they won 16 other games. Thomas is a newcomer at Karsiyaka and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last round was American Ali Karadeniz (203-F-80) of Mersin (#13). Karadeniz scored 26 points and grabbed seven rebounds. Despite Karadeniz's great performance Mersin lost 90-92 to the higher-ranked Banvit BK (#2, 18-2). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. Mersin can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 5-15 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Too bad for Karadeniz he does not play for a better team. But maybe if he did, his season stats would not be that high. Karadeniz has individually a great season in Turkey. After 20 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 21.5ppg (best scorer). Ali Karadeniz has also Turkish passport and can play in the league with a status of domestic player.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Torin Francis (210-C-83) of Aliaga - 9 points and 20 rebounds
5. Nedim Yucel (203-F-79) of TED Kolejliler - 13 points and 16 rebounds
6. Dusko Savanovic (204-PF-83) of Anadolu Efes - 19 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists
7. Bobby Dixon (178-PG-83) of Karsiyaka - 29 points, 3 rebounds and 4 assists
8. Ben Woodside (180-PG-85) of TED Kolejliler - 17 points, 3 rebounds and 9 assists
9. Ricardo Marsh (207-F-81) of Hacettepe - 21 points and 6 rebounds
10. Kirk Penney (196-G-80) of TED Kolejliler - 21 points and 11 rebounds

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
