Leader Sakarya BSB delivered the twentieth win on Saturday night. This time they crushed 18th ranked Muglaorman (3-21) 89-65 in Sakaraya. Sakarya BSB dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Muglaorman's 24. They outrebounded Muglaorman 46-26 including a 33-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. Sakarya BSB looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was American center Charles Jackson (208-93, college: Tenn Tech) who had a double-double by scoring 26 points and 15 rebounds (on 12-of-14 shooting from the field). Forward Tufan Onen (202-89) chipped in 10 points and 11 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American center Marvin Jefferson (206-86, college: Idaho) who recorded 15 points and 8 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Sakarya BSB maintains first position with 20-4 record, which they share with Eskisehir Basket. Newly promoted Muglaorman stay dead last with 21 lost games. Sakarya BSB is looking forward to face Gelisim (#14) in Izmir in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Muglaorman will play at home against Akhisar Bld (#11) and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
Important game to mention about took place in Duzce. Thirteenth ranked Yalova Bld (9-15) saved a 1-point victory on the road edging 15th ranked Duzce Belediye (7-17) 64-63 on Saturday evening. It was a good game for American guard Aubrey Coleman (193-87, college: Houston, agency: HMS) who saved his team from a defeat with 20 points. Onur Sonsirma contributed with 16 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. American center LaRon Dendy (205-88, college: Middle Tenn.St., agency: David Lee Services) replied with 14 points and 6 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) for Duzce Belediye. Yalova Bld moved-up to twelfth place. Duzce Belediye at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the fifteenth position with 17 games lost. Yalova Bld will play against league's second-placed Eskisehir Basket in Edirne in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Duzce Belediye will play on the road against Pertevniyal (#13) in Istanbul and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
A very close game took place in Afyonkarahisar between Bandirma Kir. and Afyon Bld. Tenth ranked Bandirma Kir. (12-12) got a very close victory on the road over higher ranked Afyon Bld (17-8). Bandirma Kir. managed to escape with a 3-point win 82-79 on Sunday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the home team. Worth to mention a great performance of Tonye Jekiri who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 10 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. The best for the losing side was Ali Isik with 15 points and 8 rebounds. Afyon Bld's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Bandirma Kir. moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Turk Telekom. Loser Afyon Bld dropped to the fifth position with eight games lost. Bandirma Kir. will meet at home higher ranked Istanbulspor (#7) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Afyon Bld will play against Turk Telekom in Ankara and hope to secure a win.
We should mention about the upset which took place in Akhisar, where higher ranked Acibadem (16-8) lost to eleventh ranked Akhisar Bld (10-14) in a road game 78-84. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Acibadem. The winners were led by Tyler Smith who scored that evening 23 points. Akhisar Bld maintains eleventh position with 10-14 record. Acibadem at the other side dropped to the sixth place with eight games lost. Akhisar Bld's next round opponent will be bottom-ranked Muglaorman (#18) on the road and are hoping to win another game.

Rest of the games of round 24 were quite predictable and ended without any surprises. Here they are:
Turk Telekom was defeated by Eskisehir Basket in Edirne 94-90. Socar Petkim beat Pertevniyal at home 86-69. Samsun lost to Istanbulspor on the opponent's court 86-91. Mamak DSI unfortunately lost to Bursaspor in a home game 68-75. Gelisim managed to beat Final Genclik on the road 94-77.

Afyon - Bandirma Kir. 79-82

A very close game took place in Afyonkarahisar between Bandirma Kir. and Afyon Bld. Tenth ranked Bandirma Kir. (12-12) got a very close victory on the road over higher ranked Afyon Bld (17-8). Bandirma Kir. managed to escape with a 3-point win 82-79 on Sunday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the home team. Bandirma Kir. forced 19 Afyon Bld turnovers. Strangely Afyon Bld outrebounded Bandirma Kir. 36-21 including a 23-11 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of Nigerian center Tonye Jekiri (213-94, college: Miami, FL) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 10 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and point guard Ismail-Cem Ulusoy (183-96, agency: Octagon Europe) who added 18 points and 5 assists during the contest. Five Bandirma Kir. players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was power forward Ali Isik (206-90) with 15 points and 8 rebounds and forward Hadi Ozdemir (203-83) scored 15 points and 6 rebounds. Eskisehir Basket - Turk Telekom 94-90

There was no surprise in Edirne where 9th ranked Turk Telekom (12-12) was defeated by second ranked Eskisehir Basket (20-4) 94-90. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Eskisehir Basket players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. The winners were led by American swingman Sean Marshall (198-85, college: Boston Coll.) who scored that evening 22 points and 4 assists and guard Yunus Sonsirma (192-92) supported him with 13 points and 6 rebounds. Eskisehir Basket's coach Brad Greenberg allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Even a double-double of 20 points, 7 rebounds and 14 assists by American point guard Tywain McKee (188-86, college: Coppin St.) did not help to save the game for Turk Telekom. His fellow American import power forward Darryl Monroe (201-86, college: George Mason, agency: BeoBasket) added 24 points and 8 rebounds. Four Eskisehir Basket and five Turk Telekom players scored in double figures. Eskisehir Basket keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Sakarya BSB. Turk Telekom at the other side keeps the ninth place with 12 games lost. Eskisehir Basket's next round opponent will be Yalova Bld (#12) on the road which should be an easy win for them. Turk Telekom will play against Afyon Bld and hope to win that game and get promotion back to the BSL just one year after relegation.
