Bobby Dixon
Fifth-ranked Darussafaka (13-7) was very close to win a game against first ranked Fenerbahce (18-2) in Istanbul on Monday. Fenerbahce managed to secure only three-point victory 79-76. However their fans expected much easier game. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Darussafaka. International point guard Bobby Dixon (178-83, college: Troy, agency: BeoBasket) orchestrated the victory by scoring 18 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Czech power forward Jan Vesely (213-90) contributed with 10 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. American guard Brad Wanamaker (193-89, college: Pittsburgh) replied with 18 points for Darussafaka. Darussafaka's coach David Blatt rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Fenerbahce have an impressive 11-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 18-2 record, which they share with Anadolu Efes. Darussafaka at the other side keeps the fifth place with seven games lost. Fenerbahce is looking forward to face Galatasaray (#6) in Istanbul in the next round where they are favorite. Darussafaka will play at home against Besiktas and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Bottom-ranked TED Kolejliler managed to get a second victory. This time they won against tenth-ranked Yesilgiresun Bld in Ankara 90-78. American players dominated the game. Worth to mention a great performance of Devin Thomas (206-94, college: Wake Forest) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 14 points, 14 rebounds and 7 assists and Shannon Shorter who added 17 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists during the contest. Ricky Ledo (201-92, college: Providence) responded with a double-double by scoring 25 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists. TED Kolejliler maintains sixteenth position with 2-18 record. Yesilgiresun Bld lost third consecutive game. They keep the tenth place with 12 games lost. TED Kolejliler will play against higher ranked Pinar Karsiyaka (#8) on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Yesilgiresun Bld will play against Usak Sportlif and hopes to get back on the winning track.
The game between second ranked Anadolu Efes (18-2) and 9th ranked Tofas (9-11) in Istanbul on Monday ended with biggest points difference. Anadolu Efes outscored guests from Bursa 81-58. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Tofas. The winners were led by Thomas Heurtel who scored that evening 12 points and 9 assists. Even 14 points by Kaloyan Ivanov did not help to save the game for Tofas. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Anadolu Efes have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Fenerbahce. Newly promoted Tofas keeps the ninth place with 11 games lost. Anadolu Efes will meet Demir IBB (#14) in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Tofas will play against Banvit (#4) and hope to secure a win.
Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Balikesir: Banvit (#4) and Balikesir (#15). Despite it looked like an easy game for Banvit, those rules do not exist in derby games. It's more the case of honor for local supporters and such games have that special and unique approach you cannot find in other games. Guest Balikesir challenged much higher ranked Banvit giving them a very tough game, but finally losing it by six points 79-73. The best player for the winners was Jordan Theodore who scored 16 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists. Banvit have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position with 15-5 record. Balikesir lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the fifteenth place with 17 games lost. Banvit's next round opponent will be Tofas (#9) in Bursa where they are favorite. Balikesir will play at home against Gaziantep (#7) and hope to win that game.

There were no big surprises in other games of round 20: Galatasaray beat Trabzonspor on the road 80-73. Usak won against Istanbul BBSK on its own court 80-68. Pinar Karsiyaka unfortunately lost to Besiktas in Istanbul 81-86. Gaziantep managed to beat Demir IBB at home 78-67.
The most impressive performance of 20th round was 13 points and 7 rebounds by Zach Auguste of Usak.

The winners were led by French guard Thomas Heurtel (189-89, agency: BeoBasket) who scored that evening 12 points and 9 assists and the former international guard Can Mutaf (190-91) supported him with 16 points. Even 14 points by Bulgarian power forward Kaloyan Ivanov (205-86, agency: BeoBasket) did not help to save the game for Tofas. The former international point guard Baris Ermis (194-85) added 12 points and 4 assists for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Anadolu Efes have an impressive seven-game winning streak. Usak - Istanbul BBSK 80-68

There was a minor upset when 12th ranked Istanbul BBSK (7-13) lost on the road to fourteenth ranked Usak Sportlif (6-14) 80-68. Usak Sportlif brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. The best player for the winners was Lithuanian point guard Sarunas Vasiliauskas (188-89, agency: Players Group) who scored 18 points and 4 assists. Besiktas - Pinar Karsiyaka 86-81

Rather predictable result when third ranked Besiktas (16-4) won against 7th ranked Pinar Karsiyaka (10-10) in Istanbul 86-81. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Besiktas made 16-of-20 charity shots (80.0 percent) during the game.
