There were many interesting games last round. The round ended with derby games and favorites losing the games.

The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Istanbul: Besiktas (#3) and Galatasaray (#6). Besiktas (17-5) won against visiting Galatasaray (12-10) 90-84. Besiktas made 25-of-30 free shots (83.3 percent) during the game. 26 personal fouls committed by Galatasaray helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American forward Earl Clark (208-88, college: Louisville) fired 24 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. The other American import point guard Michael Thompson (177-89, college: Northwestern) chipped in 21 points and 6 assists. Besiktas' coach Ufuk Sarica used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. International Sinan Guler (192-83, college: Carroll, MT, agency: 1x1 Sports) produced 20 points and 7 rebounds for lost side. Besiktas maintains third position with 17-5 record having just three points less than leader Fenerbahce. Galatasaray at the other side keeps the sixth place with ten games lost. Besiktas are looking forward to face Demir IBB (#14) in Buyukcekmece in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Galatasaray will play at home against TED Kolejliler (#16) and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Istanbul. Second ranked Anadolu Efes faced 4th ranked Banvit. Host Anadolu Efes (20-2) defeated guests from Balikesir (15-7) 83-74. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Tyler Honeycutt (203-90, college: UCLA) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 6 rebounds. Cedi Osman contributed with 18 points and 5 steals for the winners. American point guard Jordan Theodore (182-89, college: Seton Hall) replied with 22 points and 8 assists for Banvit. Anadolu Efes have an impressive nine-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Fenerbahce. Banvit at the other side keeps the fourth place with seven games lost. They share the position with Darussafaka. Anadolu Efes will play against Yesilgiresun Bld (#10) in Giresun in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Banvit will play at home against Gaziantep (#7) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
Leader Fenerbahce delivered the twentieth victory on Saturday night. This time they crushed 14th ranked Demir IBB (6-16) 89-68 in Istanbul. James Nunnally scored 18 points to lead the charge for the winners. Fenerbahce's coach Zeljko Obradovic felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side Jerry Johnson responded with 17 points and 6 assists. Fenerbahce (20-2) have an impressive 13-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position, which they share with Anadolu Efes. Demir IBB lost ninth consecutive game. They keep the fourteenth place with 16 games lost. Fenerbahce will meet Balikesir (#15) on the road in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Demir IBB will play against Besiktas and hope to secure a win.
We should mention about the upset which took place in Usak, where higher ranked Pinar Karsiyaka (11-11) lost to thirteenth ranked Usak Sportlif (7-15) in a road game 71-86. Zach Auguste notched a double-double by scoring 18 points and 19 rebounds to lead the effort. Both coaches used bench players saving starting five for next games. Usak Sportlif moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with Trabzonspor. Pinar Karsiyaka at the other side keeps the seventh position with 11 games lost. Usak Sportlif's next round opponent will be higher ranked Darussafaka (#5) in Istanbul and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
An interesting game took place in Trabzon, where 12th ranked Trabzonspor (7-15) lost at home to fifteenth ranked Balikesir (5-17) 76-84 on Saturday. Andrew Andrews fired 17 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Balikesir's coach Hakan Demir allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Newly promoted Balikesir maintains fifteenth position with 5-17 record. Trabzonspor lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the twelfth place with 15 games lost. Balikesir will face league's leader Fenerbahce in Istanbul in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.

Rest of the games of round 22 were quite predictable and ended without any surprises. Here they are:
Darussafaka crushed TED Kolejliler in Istanbul 88-57. Gaziantep beat Tofas at home 95-82. Yesilgiresun lost to Istanbul BBSK on the opponent's court 83-89.

There was no surprise in Ankara where 16th ranked TED Kolejliler (2-20) was crushed by fifth ranked Darussafaka (15-7) 88-57 on Sunday. Darussafaka made 21-of-24 free shots (87.5 percent) during the game. Croatian power forward Ante Zizic (210-97, agency: BeoBasket) fired 18 points and 6 rebounds (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!) for the winners. American forward Will Clyburn (201-90, college: Iowa St.) chipped in 17 points. American forward Ian Hummer (201-90, college: Princeton) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 11 rebounds and his fellow American import Ramon Galloway (190-91, college: La Salle) added 19 points respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Darussafaka moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Banvit BK. Loser TED Kolejliler stay dead last with 20 lost games. Darussafaka will face Usak Sportlif (#12) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. TED Kolejliler will play against Galatasaray (#6) in Istanbul and hope to win that game.
