BSL top team - Fenerbahce (21-2) managed to deliver another win on Sunday. This time they beat fifteenth ranked Balikesir (5-18) 79-68. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Balikesir. Fenerbahce forced 21 Balikesir turnovers. Strangely Balikesir outrebounded Fenerbahce 31-18 including 21 on the defensive glass. Point guard Berk Ugurlu (191-96) orchestrated the victory by scoring 11 points and 6 assists. Czech power forward Jan Vesely (213-90) contributed with 8 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. American guard Andrew Andrews (188-93, college: Washington, agency: Diamond Sports) answered with 21 points and 4 assists for Balikesir. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Fenerbahce have an impressive series of fourteen victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 21-2 record, which they share with Anadolu Efes. Newly promoted Balikesir keeps the fifteenth position with 18 games lost. Fenerbahce is looking forward to face Tofas (#9) in Bursa in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Balikesir will play on the road against Besiktas (#3) in Istanbul and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
Worth to mention about the upset in a game between Tofas (10-13) and Trabzonspor (8-15), which took place in Bursa. Higher ranked Tofas lost at home to thirteenth ranked Trabzonspor 79-89. It was a great evening for Cameroonian power forward Kenny Kadji (211-88, college: Miami, FL) who led his team to a victory scoring 28 points and 8 rebounds. Jorge Gutierrez helped adding 11 points, 5 rebounds, 10 assists and 4 steals. American forward Tony Crocker (200-87, college: Oklahoma) responded with 18 points. Tofas' coach Orhun Ene rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Trabzonspor moved-up to twelfth place. Newly promoted Tofas keeps the ninth position with 13 games lost. Trabzonspor will play against higher ranked Banvit (#4) in Balikesir in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Tofas will play on the road against the league's leader Fenerbahce (#1) and will have a slim chance for a victory.

Galatasaray's coach Ergin Ataman felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Ramon Galloway came up with 19 points and 6 assists for TED Kolejliler in the defeat. Galatasaray maintains sixth place with 13-10 record. TED Kolejliler lost their third game in a row. They stay dead last with 21 lost games. Galatasaray will meet Usak Sportlif (#13) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. TED Kolejliler will play against Demir IBB and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

There were no big surprises in other games of round 23: Usak was beaten by Darussafaka on the road 78-70. Banvit BK won against Gaziantep on its own court 83-77. Anadolu Efes managed to outperform Yesilgiresun in Istanbul 84-76. Pinar Karsiyaka rolled over Istanbul BBSK at home 92-65. Besiktas defeated Demir IBB on the opponent's court 84-67.
The most impressive performance of 23th round was 28 points and 8 rebounds by Ricky Ledo of Yesilgiresun.

Galatasaray - TED Kolejliler 104-57

The game between sixth ranked Galatasaray (13-10) and 16th ranked TED Kolejliler (2-21) in Istanbul on Tuesday ended with biggest points difference. Galatasaray outscored guests from Ankara 104-57. Galatasaray outrebounded TED Kolejliler 47-27 including a 35-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 18 long-distance shots on high 56.3 percentage. Galatasaray looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by TED Kolejliler's players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Galatasaray made 8 blocks. American players dominated the game. It was a quality performance for forward Austin Daye (211-88, college: Gonzaga, agency: Alti Sport) who led the winners and scored 18 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Point guard Errick McCollum (185-88, college: Goshen) accounted for 12 points and 7 assists for the winning side. Five Galatasaray players scored in double figures. Everything went according to plan when third ranked Besiktas (18-5) defeated 14th ranked Demir IBB (6-17) in Buyukcekmece 84-67 on Saturday. Besiktas looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Earl Clark (208-88, college: Louisville) who led the winners and scored 21 points and 7 rebounds. Serbian center Vladimir Stimac (210-87, agency: Interperformances) accounted for 11 points and 12 rebounds for the winning side. Besiktas' coach Ufuk Sarica used an eleven-player rotation saving starting five for next games. American-Italian forward Angelo Caloiaro (205-89, college: USF, agency: Pensack Sports) came up with 15 points and 5 rebounds and Croatian-Bosnian center Andrija Stipanovic (209-86, agency: BeoBasket) added 8 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for Demir IBB in the defeat. Besiktas maintains third place with 18-5 record having just three points less than leader Fenerbahce. Demir IBB lost their tenth game in a row. They keep the fourteenth position with 17 games lost. Besiktas will meet at home Balikesir (#15) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Demir IBB will play against TED Kolejliler in Ankara and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
