The games at this stage are more interesting as they can be crucial for the final standings in Regular Season. Despite we already know who is stronger and who is weaker, there may be still last minute surprises and upsets. The fans could enjoy quite many interesting games in the last round. The round ended with defeat of the leader, favorites losing the games and games ending by tiny margin.

The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Eskisehir Basket (25-6) on the court of eighth ranked Samsun on Saturday night. Visitors were edged by Samsun 72-70. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Eskisehir Basket. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Jerry Smith (188-87, college: Louisville, agency: HMS) who helped to win the game recording 22 points. Anil Sungur contributed with 17 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. The former international center Cemal Nalga (213-87, agency: BeoBasket) answered with a double-double by scoring 11 points, 15 rebounds and 5 assists for Eskisehir Basket. Newly promoted Samsun maintains eighth place with 17-13 record. Eskisehir Basket at the other side still keeps top position with six games lost. They share it with Socar Petkim. Samsun are looking forward to face Yalova Bld (#12) on the road in the next round. Eskisehir Basket will play against Bandirma Kir. (#10) and is hoping to win this game.
Very important is a road loss of second ranked Sakarya BSB (25-7) against ninth ranked Turk Telekom (17-14) on Saturday night. Visiting Sakarya BSB was crushed by Turk Telekom in Ankara 100-74. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Sakarya BSB. It was a great evening for American power forward Darryl Monroe (201-86, college: George Mason, agency: BeoBasket) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. Mehmet Ozdogan helped adding 26 points (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). At the losing side the former international Kerem Gonlum (208-77) responded with 9 points and 9 rebounds. Sakarya BSB's coach Burak Selcuk Ernak gave up on the game allowing to play twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Turk Telekom maintains ninth place with 17-14 record. Sakarya BSB at the other side dropped to the third position with seven games lost. Turk Telekom will play against higher ranked Acibadem (#5) in Istanbul in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Sakarya BSB will play on the road against Akhisar Bld and hopes to get back on the winning track.
The game in Afyonkarahisar was also quite interesting. Third ranked Socar Petkim (25-6) played at the court of 5th ranked Afyon Bld (20-12). Socar Petkim managed to secure a 7-point victory 73-66 on Saturday. It was an exceptional evening for TJ Campbell who led the winners and scored 18 points and 4 assists. They used an opportunity after Eskisehir Basket lost their game and moved up joining them at the top position. Loser Afyon Bld dropped to the sixth place with 12 games lost. Socar Petkim will meet at home Istanbulspor (#7) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Afyon Bld will play against Duzce Belediye and hope to secure a win.
The game in Istanbul was also worth to mention about. 4th placed Bursaspor (23-8) played at the court of sixth ranked Acibadem (20-11). Acibadem did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 75-57. It ended at the same time the eight-game winning streak of Bursaspor. Nusret Yildirim fired a double-double by scoring 17 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Acibadem moved-up to fifth place. Newly promoted Bursaspor keeps the fourth position with eight games lost. Acibadem's next round opponent will be Turk Telekom (#9) in Ankara. Bursaspor will play at home against Muglaorman (#18) and hope to win that game.
Eighteenth-ranked Muglaorman (4-27) used its home court advantage to challenge fifteenth ranked Pertevniyal (10-21) on Saturday. The visitors from Istanbul managed to secure only one-point victory 80-79. However their fans expected easier game. It was a very good performance for Ogulcan Baykan who helped to win the game recording 23 points. Pertevniyal's coach Andac Yapicier allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game.
