The Regular Season in TBL just started. There was no lack of interesting games this round. The round ended with change at the leadership position and favorites losing the games.

The most important game of round 1 took place in Antalya where Antalyaspor beat Afyon Bld (0-1) 71-65 on Saturday night. American forward C.J. Leslie (206-91, college: N.Carolina St.) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 rebounds for the winners and point guard Emir Gokalp (185-95) chipped in 18 points and 5 rebounds. At the losing side American forward Jamelle Hagins (206-90, college: Delaware) responded with 21 points and 5 rebounds. Afyon Bld will play next round against strong Bakirkoy trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Antalyaspor will try to continue on its current victory against Istanbulspor on the road.
Akhisar Bld defeated Yalova Bld at home 77-69. Americans were the main players on the court. Guard Reginald Holmes (193-87, college: Morgan St., agency: Two Points) nailed 22 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side and Tyrone Nash accounted for 19 points and 5 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). Guard Markel Starks (188-91, college: Georgetown) came up with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 assists for Yalova Bld in the defeat. Yalova Bld's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Yalova Bld will play next round against strong Acibadem trying to get back on the winning streak. Akhisar Bld will try to continue on its current victory against Orman Genclik at Ankara.

Will Daniels fired 32 points and 8 rebounds (made all of his nine free throws !!!) for the winners. Cihan Amasyali produced 22 points for lost side. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Selcuklu will meet Duzce Belediye (#14) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Samsun will play against Bursaspor (#13) and hope to win that game.
Very important is a road loss of Ankara D.S.I. (0-1) against Bakirkoy (1-0) on Saturday night. Visiting Ankara D.S.I. was defeated by Bakirkoy in Istanbul 77-66. Worth to mention a great performance of Marek Klassen who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 14 points, 7 rebounds and 12 assists. Ankara D.S.I.'s coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Bakirkoy's next round opponent will be Afyon Bld (#10) in Afyonkarahisar and are hoping to win another game. Ankara D.S.I. will play against Karesi Spor and hope to win that game.

Morris Curry stepped up and scored 26 points and 6 assists for the winners. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. TED Kolejliler will face Bandirma Kir. (#12) in Balikesir in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Istanbulspor will play at home against Antalyaspor and hope to win that game.

There were no shocking results in the rest of the games of round 1: winless Orman Genclik lost to undefeated Karesi Spor on the opponent's court 50-60. Bahcesehir managed to outperform Duzce Bld. in a home game 85-78. Petkim managed to beat Bursaspor on the road 85-78. Turk Telekom defeated Bandirma Kir. on its own court 87-70.

Selcuklu - Samsun 83-79

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Samsun (0-1) on the court of Selcuklu on Sunday night. Visitors were defeated by Selcuklu 83-79. American forward Will Daniels (202-86, college: Rhode Island) fired 32 points and 8 rebounds (made all of his nine free throws !!!) for the winners. Croatian swingman Fran Pilepic (193-89) chipped in 18 points. Cihan Amasyali (191-83) produced 22 points and American point guard David Holston (168-86, college: Chicago St.) added 12 points and 5 assists respectively for lost side. Four Samsun players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Selcuklu will meet Duzce Belediye (#14) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Samsun will play against Bursaspor (#13) and hope to win that game.

Very important is a road loss of Ankara D.S.I. (0-1) against Bakirkoy (1-0) on Saturday night. Visiting Ankara D.S.I. was defeated by Bakirkoy in Istanbul 77-66. They made 17-of-20 charity shots (85.0 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of Canadian guard Marek Klassen (185-92, college: Point Loma) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 14 points, 7 rebounds and 12 assists. American swingman Manny Atkins (201-91, college: Georgia St.) contributed with 22 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Four Bakirkoy players scored in double figures. American point guard Keifer Sykes (183-93, college: Green Bay) answered with 22 points and 6 rebounds and Spanish center Xavier Rey (210-87) added 14 points and 13 rebounds in the effort for Ankara D.S.I.Ankara D.S.I.'s coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Bakirkoy's next round opponent will be Afyon Bld (#10) in Afyonkarahisar and are hoping to win another game. Ankara D.S.I. will play against Karesi Spor and hope to win that game.
