    Budivelnyk outgunned Khimik on the road to celebrate Superleague title. They earned the third consecutive victory in the championship series to conquer the trophy. The guests were already 16 points ahead at halftime and as many as 22 after three quarters before a 33-19 last quarter charge of Khimik cut the lead to 89-81 at the end of the game. Budivelnyk made 19-of-25 charity shots (76.0 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Henry Dugat (183-87, college: Baylor) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 5 rebounds and the other American import swingman D.J. Stephens (198-90, college: Memphis) who added 21 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Four Budivelnyk players scored in double figures. At the losing side American point guard Jaime Smith (190-89, college: Al.-Huntsville) responded with 23 points and 6 assists and the former international forward Volodymyr Koniev (203-89) scored 10 points. Khimik's coach Vitali Stepanovski rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help.

    Dnipro upset Cherkasy on the road to force the decisive fifth game in the Bronze medals series. The game was mostly controlled by Dnipro. Cherkasy managed to win second period 18-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Dnipro looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international center Sergiy Zagreba (214-94) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 9 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). International Olexandr Mishula (192-92) contributed with 21 points and 6 assists for the winners. The former international swingman Oleksandr Kolchenko (195-88, agency: AproK Sports Group) replied with 19 points and 5 assists and American forward Stacy Davis (198-94, college: Pepperdine) added 13 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Cherkasy. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.

    Dnipro beat Budivelnyk to clinch Cup title in the capital of Ukraine. Dnipro erupted in the last period to grab an 86-82 win. Mishula was named the best defender of the Cup, while Timofeenko received MVP Award.
    After surprising Khimik in the semifinal, Dnipro started the Final with a 19-18 run. They also scored 19 points in the second frame, but it was not enough to control the game. Budyvelnik replied with high 27 and grabbed a 7-point halftime advantage. Moreover the team from Kyiv added a 19-16 run in the third period for a 64-54 lead. Dnipro meanwhile had a final 32-18 spurt to seal the victory.
    Olexandr Mishula (192-SG-92) top-scored for the winners with 25 points, while Sergiy Zagreba (214-C-94) netted 21. Stanislav Tymofeyenko (202-F-89, agency: Octagon Europe) collected 19 points and 12 rebounds. Michailis Anisimovas (214-C-84) replied with 15 points in a loss and Brandon Fields (193-G-88, college: Nevada) added 13.

    North East selection wins All Star Game, Zagreba MVP - Mar 12, 2017


    North East - South West 141-133

    North East selection wins All Star Game in Ukraine held in Dnipro. They overcame South West selection 141-133 as Sergiy Zagreba (214-C-94) top-scored for the winners with 29 points to be named MVP of the game.
    Both teams started well and notched 71 points in total in the first quarter. North East looked better in the second period and after a 42-33 run took a 77-69 advantage. In the second half both sides exchanged the narrow wins in the third and the last stanzas for the final result.
    Dmytro Gliebov (198-G/F-88) poured in 16 points for the winners, while Stanislav Tymofeyenko (202-F-89, agency: Octagon Europe) and Roman Kozlov (190-G-90) had 13 each. Volodymyr Koniev (203-F-89) answered with 23 points in the losing effort. Kenney Funderburk (193-G-92, college: Columbus St., agency: AproK Sports Group) ended up with 16 points, whilst Jaime Smith (190-PG-89, college: Al.-Huntsville) had 15.
