Seventh-ranked Koksokh-Stal (6-14) made lots of trouble for fifth ranked BC-93 Pulsar (13-9) in Rovno on Saturday. BC-93 Pulsar managed to secure only nine-point victory 101-92. However their fans expected easier game. Taras Lipin (185-G/F-93) fired 32 points and 8 assists for the winners. BC-93 Pulsar's coach Mikhail Pereverziy used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. BC-93 Pulsar maintains fifth position with 13-9 record. Koksokh-Stal lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the eighth place with 14 games lost. BC-93 Pulsar will face again Koksokh-Stal (#8) in Alchevsk in the next round.

The best stats of 22th round was 33 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds by Evgen Korovyakov of Pulsar.


Pulsar - Koksokh-Stal 101-92 OT

However their fans expected easier game. Koksokh-Stal was trailing by 1 point at halftime but managed to get 8-point lead after three quarters before a 24-16 charge of BC-93 Pulsar, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time. They were better in overtime eventually winning that period 16-7. BC-93 Pulsar made 23-of-28 free shots (82.1 percent) during the game. BC-93 Pulsar outrebounded Koksokh-Stal 51-34 including a 21-9 advantage in offensive rebounds. Swingman Taras Lipin (185-93) fired 32 points and 8 assists for the winners. Forward Evgen Korovyakov (197-88) chipped in a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds (made all of his ten free throws !!!). BC-93 Pulsar's coach Mikhail Pereverziy used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Guard Vitalyi Kulikov (190-83) produced 25 points and 6 rebounds and swingman Boris Bereziuk (196-87) added 23 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Four Koksokh-Stal players scored in double figures. BC-93 Pulsar maintains fifth position with 13-9 record. Koksokh-Stal lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the eighth place with 14 games lost. BC-93 Pulsar will face again Koksokh-Stal (#8) in Alchevsk in the next round.

VolinBasket - Ternopil 87-51

There was no surprise in Lutsk where bottom-ranked Ternopil-TNEU (0-20) was crushed by second ranked VolinBasket (18-4) 87-51 on Saturday. The game without a history. VolinBasket led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Ternopil-TNEU's 38. VolinBasket forced 26 Ternopil-TNEU turnovers and outrebounded them 49-23 including a 23-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. Forward Dmitro Shvagrynskyi (196-89) fired 7 points and 14 rebounds for the winners. Center Mikhailo Nejzhmak (207-87) chipped in 17 points and 6 rebounds. point guard Artem Dachenko (183-90) produced 13 points and point guard Vitaliy Zhornyak (179-93) added 10 points respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. VolinBasket have an impressive five-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Avantazh-Pol. Ternopil-TNEU at the other side still closes the standings. VolinBasket will face again bottom-ranked Ternopil-TNEU (#10) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game.

Everything could happen in Symferopil at the game between two tied teams. Both first ranked Avantazh-Politekhnik and one of their biggest challengers Musson had identical 17-4 record. But Musson was not able to use a home court advantage and was defeated by the opponent from Kharkov 90-82 on Saturday night. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Musson was trailing by 5 points at halftime but managed to get 2-point lead after three quarters before a 31-21 charge of Avantazh-Politekhnik, which allowed them to win the game. Guard Vasil Sainiev (182-89) fired 23 points for the winners. The former international guard Timur Arabadzhi (192-81) chipped in 23 points and 5 assists (made all of his fourteen free throws !!!). Forward Denis Baiandin (202-82) produced 16 points and 5 rebounds and Russian center Dmitri Lipovtsev (207-86) added 15 points and 8 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Avantazh-Politekhnik have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 18-4 record, which they share with VolinBasket. Newly promoted Musson keeps the third place with five games lost. Avantazh-Politekhnik will have a break next round. Musson will play again at home against the league's leader Avantazh-Politekhnik in Kharkov and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

There was a small surprise in Zaporozhye where sixth ranked BK Kremen (12-10) beat 4th ranked Aviastar (14-8) 69-62 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 7 points at the halftime before their 38-24 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Forward Andriy Novikov (200-89) fired a double-double by scoring 11 points and 19 rebounds for the winners. Russian center Igor Chumichev (209-89) chipped in 11 points and 6 rebounds. The former international guard Vitaly Boyko (183-82) produced 23 points and 6 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws) and center Olexandr Berhin (205-85) added 12 points and 9 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. BK Kremen have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain sixth position with 12-10 record. Aviastar at the other side keeps the fourth place with eight games lost. BK Kremen will have a break next round. Aviastar will play again at home against BK Kremen (#6) in Kremenchuk and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

3-4 Place Ferro-ZNTU - Halychyna 102-89 (2-0) The game was mostly controlled by Ferro-ZNTU. Halychyna managed to win third quarter 24-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Ferro-ZNTU shot 30 for 42 from the free-throw line, while Halychyna only scored fourteen points from the stripe. Andriy Novikov (200-F-89) and Vitaliy Bliznyuk (206-C-79) finished successful season in Belarus. Their Grodno-93 lost the Finals to Tsmoki-Minsk and finished second. Volodimir Kholopov is back on the bridge in Cherkasy Monkeys. The team has agreed on terms of contract with the specialist to return to head coaching position. Volodimir Kholopov worked as head coach of Cherkasy in 2008/2012 seasons. He was replaced at helm of the team by Jovica Arsic before the season start.
