However Ukraine surged ahead late in the regulation and snatched a tough win at the end. Trine Kasemagi (190-C-95) posted 22 points for Estonia. She also added 13 rebounds to her tally. Birgit Piibur (160-PG-94) contributed 11 points, while Greeta Uprus (175-G/F-94) accounted for 10 points in defeat.

Poland needs two overtimes to beat Ukraine in Day 1 of the international Tournament Zloty Sokol. The hosts of the tournament grabbed an 87:83 win over Ukraine in their opener. Both teams posted 20 points in the first period as the battle continued until the end. Poland managed to take 1-point lead at the halftime due to 13-12 rally in the second frame. Ukraine however needed a 26-21 surge in the third quarter for their lead, but Poland tied the game after 13-9 in the fourth quarter. In the first extra time both teams scored 7 points, while Poland grabbed the victory due to 13-9 in the second overtime. Agnieszka Skobel (179-F-89) top-scored for the winners with 19 points and Magdalena Leciejewska (191-C-86) netted 15. Magdalena Skorek (177-G-84, agency: Data Plus Group) delivered 14, while Agnieszka Majewska (195-C-82) had 11. Tomorrow Ukraine will take on Belarus, while Poland will play against Lithuania.

Dunav 8806 triumphs at NBL Finals as they won the series against Neftochimic 3-1. Dunav 8806 led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Neftochimic's 32. They outrebounded Neftochimic 42-31 including 29 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Kristina Santiago who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 19 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. The former international forward Radostina Dimitrova contributed with 19 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Four Dunav 8806 players scored in double figures. Dunav 8806's coach Georgi Bozhkov felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Ashley Gayle replied with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 13 rebounds and Estonian forward Viive Kai Rebane added 14 points in the effort for Neftochimic. Olga Dubrovina averaged 16.3 points per game this season. Anna Sokolan showed 9.9 points per game.
