U16 LATVIA - U16 UKRAINE 54-52

Latvia won a heartbreaking thriller against Ukraine in the Quarterfinals of U16 EuroBasket Division B in Tallinn. Latvia celebrated 54-52 victory in this meeting thanks to triple by Beate Markane (172-G-96) with 8 seconds remaining in the game. Ukraine had the last possession, but Vita Gorobets (180-SG-96) committed a turnover and it was Markane who made this crucial steal. Quarters: 13-10, 10-15, 14-15, 17-12. Ieva Spigule (179-F-96) and Kitija Laksa (180-G-96) scored 16 and 15 points respectively for the winners. Markane helped with 8 points. In defeat, Gorobets netted 23 pts, with pretty bad shoot percentage. Anastasiya Polovynka (176-G-96) (9 rebs) and Alina Batkovska (171-PG-96) posted 11 pts each. Latvia advanced to the Semifinals, where their rival will be Bulgaria. Ukraine goes to the Classification Round from 5th to 8th place. Their first rival is Finland.

International Center Miriam Uro-Nile (188-C-94, agency: LBM Management) had a great game in the last round for second-ranked Tim-Scuf, receiving a Player of the Week award for round 14. The 22-year old player had a double-double of 24 points and 12 rebounds, while her team outclassed Dynamo-NPU (#6, 9-9) with 59-point margin 118-59. Superleague Round 14: Dynamo-NPU are defeated by Avangard in a derby game - 20 hours ago
Coincidentally all hosts won their games. The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Kyiv: Avangard (#1) and Dynamo-NPU (#4). Avangard (16-1) won against visiting Dynamo-NPU (9-8) 72-66. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Dynamo-NPU. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half.
