Khimik-OPZ Yuzny started the preparation for the upcoming season, however so far without the foreigners and Pustovyi Artem who is with the national team. Khimik-OPZ Yuzny announced keeping Sergei Popov (194-G-88), Oleksandr Ryabchuk (189-G-89), Prokopenko Oleksandr, Olexandr Belikov (200-G/F-92), Alexander Sizov (199-F-88), Dmytro Tykhonov (205-F/C-92), Stanislav Zavadsky (213-C-87), Vitaliy Kovalenko (203-F-84). Sergei Popov averaged 8.3ppg, 1.2rpg, 1.2apg, 1.0spg, FGP: 94.1%, 3PT: 66.7%, FT: 75.0% in EuroChallenge and in Ukrainian League had 4.0ppg, 1.6rpg, 1.4apg. He joined the team early in 2005 after a year with BASCO-Dinamo Vinnytsya. Prokopenko Oleksandr showed 4.5ppg, 1.5rpg in EuroChallenge and in Ukrainian League his stats read 3.7ppg, 1.1rpg. The player also spent the whole career with the team. Vernon Goodridge (206-F-84, college: La Salle), Devoe Joseph (193-G-90, agency: Interperformances, college: Oregon), Willie Deane (188-PG-80, agency: Higher Vision Sports, college: Purdue) and Suad Sehovic (197-G/F-87) will join the squad later. The latter will prepare with Montenegrin national team for Eurobasket 2013 qualifiers. Khimik will stay in Yuzhniy until August 11th and then will head to Slovenia. They might play Krka and Olimpia in some friendly encounters.

He was also voted Eurobasket.com All-Lithuanian LKL Import Player of the Year back in 2010. Low represented USA at the Panamerican Games in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) six years ago. His stats at that event were 5 games: 8.6ppg, 1.0rpg, 2FGP: 61.1%, 3PT: 37.5%.
