As expected, Budivelnyk Kyiv officially announced signing of Malcolm Delaney (191-G-89, college: Virginia Tech). The news was first reported by Eurobasket's David Pick. Delaney led Chalon for French ProA title last season. He shined with 15 ppg, 3.3 apg and 3.1 rpg for 35 games. The player had pretty close numbers for 16 EuroChallenge games as well. Chalon won two more trophies last season: Semaine des As and French Cup. They reached EuroChallenge Finals. It was the first professional deal for Malcolm Delaney, who graduated at Virginia Tech University something more than a year ago. He had 18.7 ppg, 4 apg and 3.5 rpg for his school as a senior. Delaney was even better in his junior season with Virginia Tech. At that time he had 20.2 ppg, 4.5 apg and 3.7 rpg for 33 games. Transfer of Dainius Salenga (197-F-77) to Budivelnyk Kyiv also became official today. He arrives to the club from Zalgiris Kaunas. Salenga was named to Eurobasket.com Baltic League All-European Players Team -12. Earlier this week Budivelnyk brought in Emmanuel Jones (200-F-85, college: UTPA) for try-out. At the end of July the former Ukrainian champion landed Tony Skinn (191-G-83, college: George Mason). Last season Skinn played for Ironi Ashkelon averaging 10.6 points, 2.9 assists and 2.7 rebounds in Israeli Premier league.
BC Odessa strengthened their backcourt. They agreed on terms of contract with Klym Artamonov (183-PG-93). The deal is meant for three seasons. Klym Artamonov played in Lithuania lately. American guard Malcolm Delaney (191-89, college: Virginia Tech) responded with 17 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals and forward Volodymyr Egorov (200-91) scored 16 points and 6 assists. Budivelnyk's coach Ainars Bagatskis rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help.
