Austria-Ukraine 57:61

Ukraine escape with narrow win in Schwechat as they beat Austria for 2-0 record in Group C. Ukrainian kept the hosts scoreless in the last five minutes and grabbed 61:57 win.
Austria was not afraid of the Fratellos team and started with 19:16 in the first period. Ukraine meanwhile answered with 16-10 in the second period and grabbed 32:29 at the halftime. Austria again took the lead back after 22-16 in the third quarter. Rasid Mahalbasic (208-C-90) gave Austria 57:54 with 5 minutes to go, but those points were the last in the game for the hosts. Steven Burtt (185-G-84, college: Iona) tied the game from the perimeter and Pecherov scored for 59:57. The latter also made a free throw and Drozdov added one more for the final result in the game.
Pecherov paced all the winners with 11 points and Sergii Gladyr (196-SG-88) netted 9. Steven Burtt and Maxym Korniyenko (204-F/C-87) followed them with 8 points each. Davor Lamesic (205-PF-83, agency: Interperformances) ended up with 18 points in the losing effort and Rasid Mahalbasic netted 17. Jason Detrick (195-SF-80, agency: Court Side, college: Oklahoma) finished the game with 12 points for the hosts and Moritz Lanegger (190-PG-90, agency: Interperformances) brought 6.

MBC Mykolaiv (SL Favorit Sport) is about to confirm experienced 38-year old swingman Denis Ivanov (195-87kg-78). He played there last season. In ten SL Favorit Sport games he had 14.8ppg, 3.9rpg and 2.2apg. 28-year old guard Maksim Zozulia (190-88). He has played there for the last nine seasons. In 11 Superleague games he recorded 3.0ppg and 1.7rpg last season.
