Mykolaiv (0-1) recorded its first loss in Mariupol on Tuesday night. Visitors were defeated by Azovmash (2-1) 83-72. The hosts trailed by 6 points at the halftime before their 45-28 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Azovmash made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. Azovmash outrebounded Mykolaiv 36-23 including a 26-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was Serbian power forward Tadija Dragicevic (206-86, agency: Beo Basket) who scored 17 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Serbian center Miroslav Raduljica (213-88) chipped in 21 points (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). Azovmash's coach Aleksandar Kesar used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Josh Mayo (182-87, college: Ill.-Chicago, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) who recorded 12 points and 7 assists. Azovmash are looking forward to face Cherkasy (#7) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Mykolaiv will play against BC Donetsk and hopes to get their first victory.
Another exciting game was between Khimik and BC Donetsk where Khimik (2-0) beat BC Donetsk (1-1) on the road 81-73. It was a good game for Montenegrin-Bosnian swingman Suad Sehovic (196-87) who led his team to a victory with 19 points. Devoe Joseph contributed with 12 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Khimik's coach Zoran Martic allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American point guard Doron Perkins (188-83, college: Santa Clara) answered with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 7 rebounds and 10 assists for BC Donetsk. Khimik keeps a position of league leader. Khimik will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. BC Donetsk will play at home against Mykolaiv (#12) to get more than just one victory in their record.

BC Donetsk - Khimik 73-81

Another exciting game was between Khimik and BC Donetsk where Khimik (2-0) beat BC Donetsk (1-1) on the road 81-73. It looked good early as BC Donetsk took an 4-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Khimik had a 21-10 second period charge getting the lead and BC Donetsk was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 73-81. Khimik forced 20 BC Donetsk turnovers. It was a good game for Montenegrin-Bosnian swingman Suad Sehovic (196-87) who led his team to a victory with 19 points. SK Cherkasy Monkeys (Superleague) signed 31-year old American center Marvin Jefferson (206-107kg-86, college: Idaho). He played last season at Mugla Orman in Turkish TBL league. In 25 games he had 14.3ppg, 8.7rpg, 1.6apg and 1.9bpg. Jefferson also played that season for BM Slam Stal (also in TBL) where in 5 games he recorded 4.8ppg and 4.4rpg. Avantazh-Politekhnik Kharkov (Superleague) added to their roster 22-year old Serbian point guard Vuk Jovanovic (183-95). He played last season at Sloga in Serbian KLS league. In 15 games he recorded 11.8ppg, 2.6rpg, 3.3apg and 1.0spg. Jovanovic also played that season for The Ere (also in KLS) where in 11 games he averaged 14.4ppg, 2.5rpg and 3.2apg. BK Khimik-OPZ Yuhzny (Superleague) signed 30-year old forward Vitali Malchevskiy (203-98kg-87). It is actually his comeback to Yuzhny as he has played here before.
