The game in Dniprodzerzhynsk supposed to be quite interesting. Sixth ranked BC Donetsk (3-1) played at the court of 8th ranked DniproAzot (1-3). BC Donetsk smashed DniproAzot 80-59 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by BC Donetsk. DniproAzot managed to win fourth quarter 17-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. BC Donetsk looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by DniproAzot's players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when BC Donetsk made 8 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of international Maksym Pustozvonov (200-87, agency: Beo Basket) who helped to win the game recording 17 points. American guard Ramel Curry (192-80, college: CSU Bakersfield) contributed with 16 points for the winners. BC Donetsk's coach Vlada Jovanovic felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Alan Wiggins (206-85, college: USF) answered with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 12 rebounds for DniproAzot. Defending champion moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Khimik. DniproAzot lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the tenth position with three games lost. They share it with BC Odessa. BC Donetsk is looking forward to face Dnipro (#12) in Dnepropetrovsk in the next round and are hoping to win another game. DniproAzot will play at home against the league's leader Azovmash in Mariupol and is hoping to prove to their supporters that they can break losing series.

They keep a position of league leader. Dnipro at the other side keeps the twelfth place with four games lost. Azovmash will play against DniproAzot (#11) in Dniprodzerzhynsk in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Dnipro will play at home against BC Donetsk to get more than just one victory in their record.

Budivlenyk Kyiv have announced the hiring of Evgeni Murzin . The specialist will replace Volodymyr Koval at head coaching position. Evgeni Murzin is not new to Budivelnyk. The specialist guided the Kyiv powerhouse back in 2001/2008 seasons. He worked with Hoverla for the last six seasons. Politekhnik wins Higher League - May 13, 2016

Politekhnik won the Higher League beating Zolotoy Vek in the Final campaign 80:67. After 16-16 in the first period, Politekhnik exploded with a massive 22-6 surge and grabbed 16 points at the halftime. Zolotoy Vek managed to reduce to 8 entering the last period, while Politekhnik added a 22-17 rally in the last stanza to seal the victory.
