Ilya Shemosyuk (188-G-85) put on an amazing game in the last round for Pulsar and that's him to receive a Eurobasket.com Higher League Player of the Week award for round 7.
The 27-year old guard had the game-high 33 points adding nine rebounds and nine assists for Pulsar in his team's victory, helping them to edge out Koksokh-Stal (#10, 0-6), the league's bottom-ranked team in overtime 80-78. Pulsar maintains the 7th position in Ukrainian Higher League. Pulsar is rather a weak team placed in lower part in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 2-4 record. In the team's last game Shemosyuk had a remarkable 76.5% from 2-point range. It's his second year at Pulsar and it's hard to imagine this team without him. Shemosyuk has impressive league stats. He is league's best scorer averaging so far 23.5ppg. Shemosyuk is in league's top in assists (2nd best: 5.3apg) and averages solid 3.2spg and 57.1% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 33-year old power forward Jan Selivanov (200-F/C-79) of Koksokh-Stal. Selivanov impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 27 points and 13 rebounds. Bad luck as Koksokh-Stal was edged in overtime by the higher-ranked Pulsar (#7, 2-4) 80-78. Koksokh-Stal are still at the very bottom. 6 lost games are too many considering they did not win any game. Selivanov is one of the most experienced players at Koksokh-Stal and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 14.2ppg (#9). He also registered 6.7 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was Sergyi Teleshko (209-C-92) of Ternopil (#9). Teleshko scored 27 points and grabbed eleven rebounds (!!!). Despite Teleshko's great performance Ternopil lost 78-83 to the higher-ranked Kirovograd (#3, 3-3). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. Ternopil can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have awful season losing so far all 4 games. Too bad for Teleshko he does not play for a better team. But maybe if he did, his season stats would not be that high. Teleshko has individually a great season in Ukraine. After only 4 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 18.0ppg (4th best) and rebounds with 9.3rpg (#1 in league).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Anton Nifonton (190-G-89) of Ternopil - 25 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists
5. Vladimir Orlenko (214-C-85) of Khartsyzsk - 12 points, 7 rebounds and 2 assists
6. Vitaliy Zhornyak (179-PG-93) of Ternopil - 9 points, 4 rebounds and 10 assists
7. Roman Sokil (215-C-87) of Kirovograd - 15 points, 9 rebounds and 3 assists
8. Ivan Gusarov (190-G-87) of Kirovograd - 22 points, 4 rebounds and 5 assists
9. Dmitri Lipovtsev (207-C-86) of Musson - 13 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists
10. Igor Kozhevatov (195-F-88) of Musson - 11 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
