Here is the weekly review of the top performing Ukrainian players, who play currently abroad.

   #1. This week's number one is an international power forward Serhiy Lishchuk (210-82, agency: Beo Basket, currently plays in Eurocup). He led his Spanish team Valencia Basket to a victory against the closely-ranked Banvit BK (0-1) 88-78 in the Eurocup in Tuesday night's game. Lishchuk recorded 14 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 22 minutes on the court. It was his first game for Valencia Basket this season. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. His team is placed first in the Eurocup. It's Lishchuk's fourth year with the team. He played for the Ukrainian senior national team one years ago.

   #2. Second place goes to an international guard Steven Burtt (185-84, college: Iona, currently plays in Turkey). Burtt led Tofas to a surprising victory over the fourth-ranked Karsiyaka (3-1) 95-94 in the Turkish TBL last Saturday. He was MVP of the game. Burtt recorded 25 points and added 6 passes. Tofas Bursa (2-3) is placed 11th in the TBL. But this is still an early stage of the season and everything may happen. It's Burtt's first year with the team. Burtt is currently fifth on the league's list of top scorers. He has individually a very good season with high stats. Burtt averages: 16.8ppg, 2.8rpg, 3.2apg, 2FGP: 54.5%, 3FGP: 35.0% and FT: 83.3%. He is a naturalized American. Burtt is in the roster of the Ukrainian senior national team. He used to play for Ferro-ZNTU Zaporozhye in Ukrainian league.

   #3. The Ukrainian player who performed third best last week abroad was an international point guard Klym Artamonov (183-93, currently plays in Baltic League). Artamonov managed to help BC Siauliai in a victory against the sixth-ranked Rapla (0-4) crushing them 106-63 in the Baltic League on Saturday night. He recorded 5 points and added 6 assists in 22 minutes. BC Siauliai (4-1) is placed second in group A. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. This year Artamonov's overall stats are: 3.8ppg, 2.6rpg, 4.6apg, 2FGP: 35.7%, 3FGP: 25.0% in the five games he played so far. He is also a member of the Ukrainian senior national team.

   #4. Center Alex Len (216-93, currently plays in NCAA1), who plays in the NCAA could not help the Maryland (0-0) in their last game on Friday. Despite Len's very good performance the Maryland was edged 72-69 on the road by the University of Kentucky. He recorded a double-double by scoring 23 points and getting 12 rebounds. Len also added 4 blocks. But the season just started, so everything may happen. Len's total stats this year are: 3.8ppg, 2.6rpg and 4.6apg. He is also Ukrainian U20 national team player.

   #5. Former U20 international forward Vladyslav Kondratyev (203-90, currently plays in NCAA1) was not able to help the Bryant (0-0) in their game against the Indiana University (0-0) in the NCAA. Kondratyev did not have that impressive stats last Friday. He recorded only 2 points and grabbed 6 rebounds in 21 minutes. The Bryant was crushed 97-54 in Bloomington, IN by the Indiana University. But the season is still in it's first stage and everything can happen. Kondratyev has been at the team for four years. This season Kondratyev's total stats are: 3.8ppg, 2.6rpg and 4.6apg in the five games. He used to play for the Ukrainian U20 national team two years ago.

   #6. Shooting guard Sergii Gladyr (196-88, currently plays in Spain), who plays in the Spanish ACB was not able to secure a victory for Baloncesto Fuenlabrada (1-6) in their last game on Sunday. Despite Gladyr's good performance Baloncesto Fuenlabrada was crushed 73-52 in Las Palmas by the much higher-ranked G.Canaria 2014 (#3). He was the top scorer with 12 points. Gladyr also added 6 rebounds and 2 blocks. Gladyr has averaged so far 9.4ppg and 3.1rpg. He is an international player who is currently on the senior Ukrainian National Team roster.

   #7. Former international guard Vitaly Boyko (183-82, currently plays in Russia), who plays in the Russian Superleague (second division) couldn't help Volgograd (1-5) in their last game on Friday. Despite Boyko's very good performance Volgograd was edged 71-68 at home by the second-ranked Ruskon-Mordovia. He was the second best scorer with 16 points. Boyko also added 5 rebounds. It's Boyko's first season with the team. He has relatively good stats this year: 13.0ppg, 4.4rpg, 2.4apg and 1.2spg. Boyko used to play for the Ukrainian national team six years ago.

   #8. Center Olexandr Berhin (205-85, currently plays in Russia) is a teammate of previously mentioned Vitaly Boyko. But that was another game of his team in Russian Superleague which we would like to mention. Berhin couldn't help Volgograd (1-5) in their game against Severstal (3-3). He scored 8 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. Volgograd was crushed 77-51 in Cherepovec by the higher-ranked Severstal (#11). Berhin has averaged so far 5.6ppg, 4.6rpg and 1.2spg. He used to play for the Ukrainian U20 national team back in 2005.


The list of other players, who all have Ukrainian passport but never been selected to any of Ukrainian national teams:

   #1. Maksym Shtein (206-C-80, agency: Limelight Hoops, currently plays in Germany), who plays in the German ProB (third division) could not help Weissenhorn Youngstars (4-3) in their last game on Saturday. Despite Shtein's very good performance the fifth-placed Weissenhorn Youngstars was defeated 85-80 on the road by the second-ranked Hanau in the Group South. He was the top scorer with 17 points. Shtein also added 9 rebounds and dished 3 assists. But there are still lots of games to play and it's a long way to go. It's Shtein's first season with the team. He has averaged so far 6.0ppg, 5.7rpg and 2.0apg. Shtein has a dual citizenship: Ukrainian and German.

   #2. Sergei Miakinin (206-F/C-86, currently plays in Belarus) was the major contributor in a Sozh Gomel's victory against the closely-ranked Tsmoki-Minsk II (3-3) crushing them 87-61 in the Belarusian Premier League in Friday night's game. He recorded 14 points and grabbed 8 rebounds in 33 minutes. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. BK Sozh Gomel (5-1) is placed second in the Premier League. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. Miakinin is currently third on the league's list of top scorers with 17.5ppg. He also averaged so far 6.5rpg in the six games he played so far.

   #3. Sergei Dadukin (198-F-83, currently plays in Belarus) is a teammate of previously mentioned Sergei Miakinin and both played together in the last Belarusian Premier League game. Dadukin contributed to an easy victory against the closely-ranked Tsmoki-Minsk II (3-3) crushing them 87-61. He recorded 10 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 34 minutes. Dadukin is ranked third on the list of the best rebounders in the league with 8.2rpg. This year his other stats are: 12.8ppg, 2.8apg and 1.2spg in the five games.

   #4. Igor Nesterenko (201-C/F-90, currently plays in Israel) led Elitzur Yavne to an easy victory against the closely-ranked Elitzur Ramla 76-60 in the Israeli National League (second division) last Tuesday. He recorded 14 points and grabbed 8 rebounds in 23 minutes. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. Elitzur Yavne (4-0) is placed first in the National League. So far his team won all four games in the Regular Season. This year Nesterenko has relatively solid stats: 11.0ppg and 6.8rpg in the four games. He is another player who holds two passports: Ukrainian and Israeli. Despite Nesterenko's Ukrainian nationality, he previously played for the Israeli U20 national team and is probably not eligible to play for the Ukrainian team.

   #5. Experienced Dmitro Gerasymenko (199-F-78, currently plays in Russia) was not able to help Volgograd (1-5) in their game against Severstal (3-3) in the Russian Superleague (second division). Gerasymenko scored 8 points in 30 minutes. Volgograd was crushed 77-51 in Cherepovec by the higher-ranked (#11) Severstal. Gerasymenko has averaged so far 3.3ppg and 1.7rpg in the three games.

Estonia - Ukraine 55:72 Ukraine recorded the first victory at the international friendly tournament in Tallinn. They prevailed against the hosts in the opener. Viacheslav Kravtsov (211-C-87, agency: BeoBasket) delivered 13 points to pace the visitors. Estonia and Ukraine traded baskets throughout the first period. 29-year old Ukrainian-Moldovan center Stanislav Zavadsky (213-109kg-87). He has played for the last two seasons at SK Cherkasy Monkeys in Ukrainian SL Favorit Sport. In 41 games he had 13.4ppg and 6.1rpg last season. Zavadsky helped them to make it to the semifinals. His team won Ukrainian Superleague Regular Season in 2014. Volodymyr Gerun agreed terms with CB Clavijo - 2 days ago

Cocinas.com CB Clavijo Logrono (LEB Gold) strengthened their roster with addition of 22-year old Ukrainian power forward Volodymyr Gerun (208-113kg-94, college: Portland) from Forca Lleida. In 16 LEB Gold games in Spain he recorded 11.8ppg, 6.7rpg, 1.0spg and 1.1bpg last season. Great year indeed as he was voted to Eurobasket.com All-Spanish LEB Gold Honorable Mention and All-Bosmans Team.
