Gaz Metan Medias edge Khimik for the top place in Group D. The Romanian side needed an 88:86 win for the perfect 3-0 record. The Ukrainian side meanwhile suffered their first loss.
Both teams entered the game undefeated and desired to keep the winning streak. Khimik took 25-16 lead in the first period, while Gaz Metan Medias answered with 25-19 in the second frame. Moreover the Romanian side won the third period 28-20 and had 5 point advantage entering the last stanza. Khimik did all their best to catch up with the hosts and could even tie the game at the regulation, however Joseph missed both free throws.
Titus Nicoara (203-PF-88, agency: Interperformances) top-scored for the winners with 21 points and Ivan Ivanovic (205-F-80, agency: Beo Basket) as well as Deven Mitchell (197-F-84, agency: Interperformances) had 17 each. Andrei Mandache (191-G/F-87, agency: Global Sports Plaza) posted 12 points for the winners. Willie Deane (188-PG-80, agency: Higher Vision Sports, college: Purdue) finished the game with 26 points in defeat and Sava Lesic (205-C/F-88) scored 17. Suad Sehovic (196-G/F-87) tossed in 16 and Zavadskyi netted 11.
