Hapoel Jerusalem registered the first win in EuroCup season. They knocked down visiting Budivelnyk tonight. Craig Smith (201-F-83, college: Boston Coll.) accounted for 18 points to lead the winners.
Hapoel ensured a strong start to the game. The hosts established a 22:18 lead after ten minutes. The Israeli team extended the margin in the second quarter. Hapoel erupted for 27 points in the second term to gain a 49:33 halftime lead. Budivelnyk stopped the rot in the third quarter. The Kyiv team adjusted their defence and cut the margin to just 8 points at the final intermission. But Hapoel picked up the tempo in the fourth term and marched to the victory at the end. Josh Duncan (203-PF-86) netted 17 points, while Raviv Limonad (191-SG-84) added 13 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Leo Lyons (206-F-87, agency: Edge Sports, college: Missouri) replied with 18 points and 8 boards for Budivelnyk. Artur Drozdov (200-SF-80) had 12 points, 6 boards and 4 assists in the loss.

It's still too early stage of the Regular Season in Superleague, but even now we can clearly see the differece between stronger teams and outsiders. Dnipro (5-1) recorded its first loss in Zaporozhye on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by eighth ranked Zaporizhye (1-6) 78-70. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Dnipro. Last season 30 years old Pustozvonov played for U-Banca Transilvania Cluj Napoca. He averaged 8.8 ppg, 2.0 rpg and 0.8 apg in 34 Romanian Liga Nationala games and 8.6 ppg, 2.5 rpg and 1.2 apg in 11 FIBA Europe Cup. Pustozvonov played for Ukraine National team at EuroBasket-2017.
