Fourth-ranked Tornado (4-4) made lots of trouble for leader Musson (10-0) on Sunday. The visitors from Symferopil managed to secure only three-point victory 64-61. However their fans expected easier game. The guests trailed by 9 points after three quarters before their 23-11 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Musson made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. 25 personal fouls committed by Tornado helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was Russian center Dmitri Lipovtsev (207-86) who scored 22 points and 5 rebounds. Forward Igor Kozhevatov (195-88) chipped in 15 points and 6 rebounds. Musson's coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Guard Sergey Lapenko (196-85) produced 15 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the hosts. Undefeated Musson have an impressive series of ten victories in a row. Newly promoted Musson maintains first place with 10-0 record. Tornado at the other side dropped to the fifth position with four games lost. Musson are looking forward to face VolinBasket (#6) in Lutsk in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Tornado will play on the road against BK Kremen in Kremenchuk and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
Bottom-ranked BK Kremen (0-6) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 95-71 loss to fifth ranked Kirovograd (5-5) in Kremenchuk. Forward Dmitro Ignatenko (199-87) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 13 rebounds. Oleksandr Pidiprigora contributed with 15 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Kirovograd's coach felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Russian center Igor Chumichev (209-89) answered with 15 points and 8 rebounds for BK Kremen. Kirovograd moved-up to fourth place. BK Kremen lost their sixth game in a row. They still closes the standings with six games lost. They share the position with Ternopil. Kirovograd will play against Koksokh-Stal (#8) in Alchevsk in the next round. BK Kremen will play against Tornado and hopes to get finally their first victory.
The game in Rovno was also quite interesting. Second ranked Khartsyzsk (9-1) played at the court of 7th ranked BC-93 Pulsar (2-8). Khartsyzsk did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 83-64 on Sunday. It was a great evening for Anatolii Chelovan who led his team to a victory scoring 14 points and 9 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Khartsyzsk's coach Vladimir Bryaukhavetshy allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Ilya Shemosyuk responded with 40 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds (was perfect 12-for-12 from the free throw line !!!). The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Khartsyzsk. They maintain second place with 9-1 record behind leader Musson. BC-93 Pulsar lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the seventh position with eight games lost. They share it with Koksokh-Stal. Khartsyzsk will meet at home Avantazh-Politekhnik (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. BC-93 Pulsar will play against Ternopil-TNEU (#10) and hope to secure a win.
