Higher League round 12 most important game was a victory of Koksokh-Stal over 5th ranked Kirovograd 90-76 on Saturday night. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Kirovograd. The game was mostly controlled by Koksokh-Stal. Kirovograd managed to win fourth quarter 20-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a good game for power forward Jan Selivanov (200-F/C-79) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 15 rebounds. Guard Pavlo Haylo (182-87) contributed with 20 points and 5 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. Swingman Anton Rozhkov (198-88) replied with 23 points for Kirovograd. Kirovograd's coach rotated eleven players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Koksokh-Stal (3-8) moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Pulsar. Kirovograd at the other side keeps the fifth position with six games lost. Koksokh-Stal is again looking forward to face higher ranked Kirovograd (#5) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Kirovograd will have a break next round.
Higher League top team - Musson (11-0) managed to deliver another win. This time they beat sixth ranked VolinBasket (2-3) in Symferopil 70-56. Worth to mention a quality performance of Russian center Dmitri Lipovtsev (207-86) who helped to win the game recording 17 points and 5 rebounds and Roman Legonkov who added 15 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was forward Anatoli Dubnyuk (202-76) with 10 points. VolinBasket's coach Sergei Smityukh tested eleven players and allowed the starting five to rest. Undefeated Musson have an impressive 11-game winning streak. Newly promoted Musson maintains first position with 11-0 record. VolinBasket lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the eighth place with three games lost. Musson will again play against VolinBasket (#8) in Lutsk in the next round and are hoping to win another game. VolinBasket will have a break next round.
Bottom-ranked BK Kremen is still unable to win any game. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their seventh consecutive match to fifth ranked Tornado (5-4) 90-66 on Saturday evening. The winners were led by Igor Dobrikov who scored that evening 20 points. Tornado's coach felt very confident that he used entire bench saving starting five for next games. Even 13 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists by Igor Chumichev did not help to save the game for BK Kremen. Tornado moved-up to fourth place. Loser BK Kremen still closes the standings with seven games lost. They share the position with Ternopil. Tornado will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. BK Kremen will play again against Tornado (#4) in Odessa and hopes to get finally their first victory.
Bottom-ranked Ternopil-TNEU is still unable to win any game. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their seventh consecutive match to seventh ranked BC-93 Pulsar (3-8) 99-64. The best player for the winners was Ilya Shemosyuk who scored 19 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists. Ternopil-TNEU's coach gave up on the game allowing to play twelve players seeing no chance for a win. BC-93 Pulsar moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Koksokh-Stal. Ternopil-TNEU at the other side still closes the standings with seven games lost. BC-93 Pulsar will have a break next round. Ternopil-TNEU will play again at home against BC-93 Pulsar (#6) in Rovno and looks forward to get finally their first victory.

Bottom-ranked BK Kremen is still unable to win any game. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their seventh consecutive match to fifth ranked Tornado (5-4) 90-66 on Saturday evening. The game was mostly controlled by Tornado. BK Kremen managed to win fourth quarter 23-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Tornado dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to BK Kremen's 34. They outrebounded BK Kremen 44-28 including a 36-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Tornado looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by BK Kremen's players. The winners were led by swingman Igor Dobrikov (193-90) who scored that evening 20 points and forward Oleksandr Gudkov (204-90) supported him with 9 points and 10 rebounds. Four Tornado players scored in double figures. Tornado's coach felt very confident that he used entire bench saving starting five for next games. It looked good early as VolinBasket took an 4-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Musson had a 23-5 second period charge getting the lead and VolinBasket was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 56-70. They dominated on the defensive end, holding VolinBasket to just 5 points in second quarter. They outrebounded VolinBasket 41-22 including a 29-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. VolinBasket was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a quality performance of Russian center Dmitri Lipovtsev (207-86) who helped to win the game recording 17 points and 5 rebounds and Russian guard Roman Legonkov (201-89) who added 15 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Hang Sen Guayzhou (NBL) added to their roster 32-year old Ukrainian ex-international guard Steven Burtt (189-84kg-84, college: Iona). He is a dual citizen owning also American passport. Burtt moved there from Byblos Sporting Club in Lebanese Pepsi LBL where he started the season. In 25 games he recorded very impressive stats: 22.6ppg, 2.8rpg, 4.2apg and 1.2spg this season. Budivlenyk Kyiv have announced the hiring of Evgeni Murzin . The specialist will replace Volodymyr Koval at head coaching position. Evgeni Murzin is not new to Budivelnyk. The specialist guided the Kyiv powerhouse back in 2001/2008 seasons. He worked with Hoverla for the last six seasons.
