27-year old guard Ilya Shemosyuk (188-G-85) put on an amazing game in the last round for Pulsar and receives a Eurobasket.com Higher League Player of the Week award for round 12. He had the game-high 19 points adding nine rebounds and seven assists for Pulsar in his team's victory, helping them to outclass, the league's bottom-ranked team Ternopil (#10, 0-7) with 35-point margin 99-64. Pulsar is placed at 6th position in Ukrainian Higher League. Too late to salvage the team, which is currently ranked such low. They already lost 8 games and recorded just three victories. It's Shemosyuk's second year at Pulsar and it's hard to imagine this team without him. Shemosyuk has impressive league stats. He is league's best scorer averaging so far 23.7ppg. Shemosyuk is in league's top in assists (3rd best: 4.9apg) and averages solid 2.5spg and 54.0% FGP.
Second best performed player last round was Jan Selivanov (200-F/C-79) of Koksokh-Stal. He is a forward in his 3rd season at Koksokh-Stal. In the last game Selivanov recorded impressive double-double of 16 points and 15 rebounds. Of course he lead Koksokh-Stal to another comfortable win 90-76 over slightly higher-ranked Kirovograd (#5, 5-6) being unquestionably team leader. This victory allowed Koksokh-Stal to move up to 7th position in the standings. 8 lost games are too many comparing to just three victories Koksokh-Stal managed to get this year. Selivanov is one of the most experienced players at Koksokh-Stal and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.
Third place about best performers goes to another Koksokh-Stal's star - guard Pavlo Haylo (182-G-87). Haylo scored 20 points and passed five assists. He was another key player of Koksokh-Stal, helping his team with a 90-76 easy win against slightly higher-ranked Kirovograd (#5, 5-6). Koksokh-Stal can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 3-8 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Too bad for Haylo he does not play for a better team. But maybe if he did, his season stats would not be that high. Haylo has individually a great season in Ukraine. After 11 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in assists with 3.4apg (8th best).
Other top performing players last week: 4. Oleksandr Gudkov (204-F-90) of Tornado - 9 points, 10 rebounds and 2 assists 5. Anton Rozhkov (198-G/F-88) of Kirovograd - 23 points and 3 rebounds 6. Aleksandr Kosenkov (205-F-90) of Kirovograd - 16 points and 7 rebounds 7. Sergei Glinchak (89) of BK Kremen - 16 points and 3 rebounds 8. Igor Meshcheryakov (204-F-86) of Tornado - 13 points and 6 rebounds 9. Vyacheslav Kovalevski (200-F-76) of Pulsar - 14 points, 4 rebounds and 5 assists 10. Maksym Ozhegov (190-G-90) of Pulsar - 19 points, 10 rebounds and 3 assists
