Justin Love
Experienced American Justin Love (189-G-78) had a very impressive game in the last round for BC Odessa and that's him to receive a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 25.
The 34-year old guard had the game-high 25 points adding seven rebounds and two assists for BC Odessa in his team's victory, helping them to edge out Cherkasy (#9, 7-9) 78-77. The game was not the highest importance and did not have significant influence on the top of the standings. BC Odessa is placed at 12th position in Ukrainian Superleague. The season is in a full swing, so it's only a dream for the team to make it into top half of the standings. For contrary they may face relegation if the situation turns from bad to worse. BC Odessa have already lost 12 games and recorded just four victories. In the team's last game Love had a remarkable 61.5% from 2-point range. It's his second year at BC Odessa and it's hard to imagine this team without him. Saint Louis University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Love is in league's top in points (7th best: 16.4ppg) and averages solid 57.0% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 27-year old American power forward Callistus Eziukwu (208-F/C-85) of Kryvbasbasket. Eziukwu impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 21 points and 10 rebounds. Bad luck as Kryvbasbasket lost that game 66-82 to the higher-ranked Budivelnyk (#2, 12-5). Kryvbasbasket managed to keep the same 7th spot in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 8-9 record. Eziukwu is a newcomer at Kryvbasbasket and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last round was American Jeremy Chappell (191-G-87) of top-ranked Ferro-ZNTU. Chappell showcased his all-around game by recording 17 points, seven rebounds and four assists in the last round. He was a key player of Ferro-ZNTU, leading his team to a 83-72 win against the lower-ranked BC Kyiv (#13, 4-13). Ferro-ZNTU confirms their top position in the standings. Their record at this point is 13 victories and 4 lost games. Chappell has a very solid season. In 17 games in Ukraine he scored 15.4ppg. He also has 5.8rpg, 3.7apg and FGP: 56.6%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Leo Lyons (206-F-87) of Budivelnyk - 20 points, 11 rebounds and 3 assists
5. Cameron Moore (208-F-90) of Ferro-ZNTU - 17 points and 9 rebounds
6. Travis Peterson (208-C/F-85) of Hoverla - 25 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists
7. Ronald Davis (190-G-82) of DniproAzot - 28 points and 6 rebounds
8. Jarrod Jones (205-F-90) of BC Kyiv - 17 points, 12 rebounds and 2 assists
9. Malcolm Delaney (191-G-89) of Budivelnyk - 22 points and 4 rebounds
10. Oleksii Shchepkin (191-G-89) of Dnipro - 21 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists

The Player of the week is choosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

Higher League Round 15: Krivbas-2 beats Dnipro-2 in the most crucial game of the week - 5 hours ago
An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Kryvyi Rih. First ranked Krivbas-2 faced 4th placed Dnipro-2. Host Krivbas-2 (14-2) defeated guests from Dnepropetrovsk (6-10) 92-76. The game was mostly controlled by Krivbas-2. Dnipro-2 managed to win fourth quarter 21-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 23-of-30 free shots (76.7 percent) during the game. Krivbas-2 forced 22 Dnipro-2 turnovers. Strangely Dnipro-2 outrebounded Krivbas-2 4...   [read more]
Can Anyone Stop the Golden State Warriors this Year? - 5 days ago
The Golden State Warriors were on the verge of rewriting the history books last year before throwing away a 3-1 advantage against the Cleveland Cavaliers in the NBA Finals. Steve Kerr's side had just recorded the first ever 73-win season; eclipsing the Chicago Bulls' history-making 72-win year back in 1996 but they fell short when it mattered most of all. However, the Warriors made moves during the offseason to ensure that a similar slip-up will not occur this year. Back in July, Oklah...   [read more]
