International swingman Alina Iagupova (186-G/F-92, agency: LBM Management) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Elizabeth-Basket, receiving a Higher League Player of the Week award for round 8.
The 20-year old player was the main contributor (27 points, nine rebounds and six assists) to her team's victory, helping them to crush Bar Regina-B. (#1, 6-2) with 18-point margin 86-68. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Elizabeth-Basket is placed at 4th position in Ukrainian Higher League. Elizabeth-Basket is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 3-3 record. In the team's last game Iagupova had a remarkable 61.5% from 2-point range and got three three-pointers out of 7 attempts. She turned to be Elizabeth-Basket's top player in her first season with the team. Alina Iagupova has solid league stats. She is in league's top in points (2nd best: 30.5ppg), rebounds (2nd best: 7.0rpg), assists (5th best: 5.0apg) and averages impressive 4.0spg and 56.0% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was another Elizabeth-Basket's star - 23-year old international center Alisa Ievtushenko (191-C-89, agency: LBM Management). Ievtushenko had a very good evening with 23 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists. Of course together with Iagupova she helped Elizabeth-Basket with another comfortable win 86-68 over the higher-ranked Bar Regina-B. (#1, 6-2) being unquestionably team leader. It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Elizabeth-Basket consolidated its place in top 4 of the standings. Her team's 3-3 record is not bad at all. Ievtushenko is a newcomer at Elizabeth-Basket, but is already one of team's top players. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 15.1ppg (#5). She also registered 6.9 boards per game.

Third on the list of top players last round was international guard Inna Kochubei (174-G-82) of Tim-Scuf (#3). Kochubei showcased her all-around game by recording 10 points, seven rebounds and thirteen assists (!!!) in the last round. She was a key player of Tim-Scuf, leading her team to a 71-50 easy win against slightly lower-ranked Interkhim (#5, 3-5). Tim-Scuf needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 5 victories and 3 lost games. Kochubei has a great season in Ukraine. After only 8 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 15.1ppg (6th best) and assists with 5.5apg (2nd best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Juanita Ward (180-G-86) of Dynamo - 25 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists
5. Kimberly Williams (168-G-74) of Dynamo - 13 points, 2 rebounds and 8 assists
6. Oxana Pysmennyk (190-F-78) of Bar Regina-B. - 22 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists

10. Zhanna Likhodid (177-F-80) of Interkhim - 14 points and 12 rebounds

The Player of the week is choosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

Superleague Round 19: Last-ranked Tavriyska Zirka beats DVUFK - 1 day ago
There will be only one (last) round of the Regular Season in Superleague. Host teams show no mercy winning all games. Bottom-ranked Tavriyska Zirka managed to get the second consecutive victory on Sunday night. This time they outleveled eighth-ranked DVUFK in Kherson 87-64. It's especially surprising that the victory came too easily and 23-point difference proves that Tavriyska Zirka was well-prepared to that game.
