Host teams show no mercy winning all games. There was no lack of excitement in the last round games. The round ended with defeat of the leader and favorites losing the games.

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of undefeated Musson (14-1) in Donetsk on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by second ranked Khartsyzsk (12-1) 62-55. It ended at the same time the 14-game winning streak of Musson. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. The hosts trailed by 4 points after three quarters before their 19-8 charge, which allowed them to win the game. 32 personal fouls committed by Musson helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Evgen Korovyakov (197-F-88, agency: New Trend Agency) who helped to win the game recording 13 points and 6 rebounds and center Anatolii Chelovan (206-91) who added 10 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side Russian center Dmitri Lipovtsev (207-86) responded with 9 points and 10 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Khartsyzsk have an impressive nine-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 12-1 record having 2 victories less than leader Musson. Newly promoted Musson still keeps top place with one game lost. Khartsyzsk are again looking forward to face league's leader Musson in Symferopil in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Musson will have a break next round.
Tornado (#4) was upset in Lutsk by seventh ranked VolinBasket 103-95. The winners were led by guard Bogdan Karebin (191-78) who scored that evening 23 points and 8 rebounds and Dmitro Shvagrynskyi supported him with 13 points and 11 rebounds. Even 25 points (made all of his eight free throws) by forward Igor Meshcheryakov (204-86) did not help to save the game for Tornado. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. VolinBasket have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to sixth place. Tornado at the other side keeps the fourth position with six games lost. VolinBasket will again play against higher ranked Tornado (#4) in Odessa in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Tornado will have a break next round.
Bottom-ranked Ternopil-TNEU (0-11) is still winless. This time they lost on the road their 11th consecutive match to eighth ranked Koksokh-Stal (5-10) 100-64 on Saturday evening. Aleksander Kolomiychuk fired 22 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Koksokh-Stal's coach Aleksander Bezuglov felt very confident that he used entire bench saving starting five for next games. Sergyi Teleshko produced 26 points for lost side. Koksokh-Stal moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Kirovograd. Loser Ternopil-TNEU still closes the standings with 11 games lost. They share the position with BK Kremen. Koksokh-Stal will again meet at home bottom-ranked Ternopil-TNEU (#10) in the next round. Ternopil-TNEU will have a break next round.
Top-ranked Avantazh-Politekhnik blasted bottom-ranked BK Kremen (0-11) in Kharkov 105-75 keeping the perfect record after 16 rounds. BK Kremen is still unable to win any game. It was a very good performance for Anton Mikhaylov who helped to win the game recording 32 points and 8 rebounds. Coach Valentin Kulibaba's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 10 players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Undefeated Avantazh-Politekhnik (9-0) have an impressive nine-game winning streak. They maintain third position with a perfect record of 9 victories in a row having eleven points less than leader Musson. BK Kremen at the other side still closes the standings with 11 games lost. Avantazh-Politekhnik's next round opponent will be again BK Kremen (#9) in Kremenchuk where they are favorite.
The game in Rovno was also quite interesting. 5th ranked Kirovograd (5-10) played at the court of sixth ranked BC-93 Pulsar (6-9). BC-93 Pulsar defeated Kirovograd 85-74 on Saturday. Worth to mention a great performance of Ilya Shemosyuk who helped to win the game recording 40 points (!!!) and 6 assists. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. BC-93 Pulsar moved-up to fifth place. Kirovograd lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the seventh position with ten games lost. BC-93 Pulsar will face again Kirovograd (#8) at home in the next round.

VolinBasket - Tornado 103-95

Tornado (#4) was upset in Lutsk by seventh ranked VolinBasket 103-95. The hosts were already 16 points ahead after 3 quarters before a 36-28 Tornado's run in the last quarter cut the lead to 103-95 at the end of the game. VolinBasket dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Tornado's 34 and made 18-of-20 charity shots (90.0 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Tornado 42-23 including 17 on the offensive glass. The winners were led by guard Bogdan Karebin (191-78) who scored that evening 23 points and 8 rebounds and forward Dmitro Shvagrynskyi (196-89) supported him with 13 points and 11 rebounds. Bottom-ranked Ternopil-TNEU (0-11) is still winless. This time they lost on the road their 11th consecutive match to eighth ranked Koksokh-Stal (5-10) 100-64 on Saturday evening. The game without a history. Koksokh-Stal led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 72 of its points in the paint compared to Ternopil-TNEU's 42. They outrebounded Ternopil-TNEU 48-23 including a 31-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Koksokh-Stal looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Ternopil-TNEU's players. Power forward Aleksander Kolomiychuk (202-91) fired 22 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Power forward Jan Selivanov (200-79) chipped in a double-double by scoring 15 points and 13 rebounds. Five Koksokh-Stal players scored in double figures. Koksokh-Stal's coach Aleksander Bezuglov felt very confident that he used entire bench saving starting five for next games. Guard Vasil Sainiev (182-89) contributed with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 assists for the winners. The game in Rovno was also quite interesting. 5th ranked Kirovograd (5-10) played at the court of sixth ranked BC-93 Pulsar (6-9). BC-93 Pulsar defeated Kirovograd 85-74 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by BC-93 Pulsar. Kirovograd was better in third quarter 15-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 29-of-32 free shots (90.6 percent) during the game, while Kirovograd only scored eleven points from the stripe. Kirovograd was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Ilya Shemosyuk (188-85) who helped to win the game recording 40 points (!!!) and 6 assists (made all of his eleven free throws !!!) and guard Maksym Ozhegov (190-90, agency: New Trend Agency) who added 18 points during the contest.
