Talented international swingman Alina Iagupova (186-G/F-92, agency: LBM Management) had a great game in the last round for Elizabeth-Basket and that's her to receive a Eurobasket.com Higher League Player of the Week award for round 9.
The 20-year old swingman had the game-high 31 points adding five rebounds and five assists for Elizabeth-Basket in her team's victory, helping them to beat Interkhim (#5, 3-6) 87-74. Elizabeth-Basket maintains the 4th position in Ukrainian Higher League. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Elizabeth-Basket will need more victories to improve their 5-3 record. In the team's last game Iagupova had a remarkable 64.3% from 2-point range. She turned to be Elizabeth-Basket's top player in her first season with the team. Iagupova has impressive league stats. She is league's best scorer averaging so far 30.0ppg and leads league in rebounds with 6.5rpg. Iagupova is in league's top in assists (5th best: 5.0apg) and averages solid 3.3spg and 58.8% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young center Yevgeniya Sivakova (192-C-92) of Interkhim. Sivakova impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 30 points and 11 rebounds. Bad luck as Interkhim lost that game 74-87 to slightly higher-ranked Elizabeth-Basket (#4, 5-3). Interkhim managed to keep the same 5th spot in the standings. Her team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 3-6 record. Sivakova is a newcomer at Interkhim and it seems she did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last round was Olga Chernenko of Frankivsk-Hal. (#6). Chernenko got into 30-points club by scoring 37 points in the last round. She went also for nine rebounds . Despite Chernenko's great performance Frankivsk-Hal. lost 82-89 to slightly higher-ranked Elizabeth-Basket (#4, 5-3). But her team cannot count on just a single shooter as she also needs help of the other teammates. Frankivsk-Hal. can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have awful season losing so far all 8 games. Too bad for Chernenko she does not play for a better team. But maybe if she did, her season stats would not be that high. Chernenko has a very solid season. In 3 games in Ukraine she scored 16.7ppg.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Alina Iagupova (186-G/F-92) of Elizabeth-Basket - 28 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists
5. Olena Zherzherunova (191-C/F-78) of Elizabeth-Basket - 20 points, 13 rebounds and 3 assists
6. Miriam Uro-Nilie (190-C-94) of Tim-Scuf - 26 points and 10 rebounds
7. Alisa Ievtushenko (191-C-89) of Elizabeth-Basket - 13 points and 14 rebounds
8. Inna Kochubei (174-G-82) of Tim-Scuf - 19 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists
9. Olena Zherzherunova (191-C/F-78) of Elizabeth-Basket - 13 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists
10. Ashley Graham (171-G-84) of Elizabeth-Basket - 13 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists

The Player of the week is choosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
