Ryan Pearson
22-year old forward Ryan Pearson (198-F-90) had a great game in the last round for Hoverla and receives a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 29.
He had the game-high 27 points adding six rebounds for Hoverla in his team's victory, helping them to outclass Khimik (#4, 12-6) with 27-point margin 92-65. Hoverla maintains the 5th position in Ukrainian league. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Hoverla will need more victories to improve their 12-9 record. In the team's last game Pearson had a remarkable 63.6% from 2-point range. He turned to be Hoverla's top player in his first season with the team. George Mason University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Pearson is in league's top in points (7th best: 16.6ppg), rebounds (6th best: 7.1rpg) and averages solid 53.6% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Charles Thomas (203-F-86) of Cherkasy. He is American forward in his first season at Cherkasy. In the last game Thomas recorded impressive 29 points and 6 rebounds. Bad luck as Cherkasy lost that game 77-85 to the lower-ranked BC Kyiv (#14, 5-16). Cherkasy managed to keep the same 8th spot in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 9-11 record. Thomas is a newcomer at Cherkasy and quickly became one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 17.6ppg (#3). He also registered 5.5 boards per game.

Third place about best performers goes to guard Justin Robinson (187-PG-87, agency: Two Points) of BC Kyiv (#14). Robinson scored 20 points and passed six assists. He was a key player of BC Kyiv, leading his team to a 85-77 win against the higher-ranked Cherkasy (#8, 9-11). BC Kyiv can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have extremely bad season and 5-16 record places them at the very bottom of the standings. Too bad for Robinson he does not play for a better team. But maybe if he did, his season stats would not be that high. Robinson has a very solid season. In 21 games in Ukraine he scored 9.9ppg.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Maxym Korniyenko (204-F/C-87) of Dnipro - 18 points, 10 rebounds and 3 assists
5. Josh Mayo (182-G-87) of Mykolaiv - 20 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists
6. Justin Love (189-G-78) of BC Odessa - 27 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists
7. Derrick Zimmerman (191-G-81) of DniproAzot - 13 points, 7 rebounds and 11 assists
8. Artur Drozdov (200-SF-80) of Budivelnyk - 12 points, 11 rebounds and 2 assists
9. Malcolm Delaney (191-G-89) of Budivelnyk - 22 points, 2 rebounds and 2 assists
10. Dwayne Mitchell (196-G/F-82) of Mykolaiv - 15 points and 7 rebounds

The Player of the week is choosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

Utah Jazz waives Bolomboy - 8 hours ago
Utah Jazz (NBA) waived 23-year old Ukrainian international forward Joel Bolomboy (206-107kg-94, college: Weber State). Bolomboy played there last season.
