Here is the weekly review of the top performing Ukrainian players, who play currently abroad.

   #1. This week's number one is former international center Valeriya Berezhynska (193-86, agency: Josep and Nicolas, college: Rice, currently plays in Poland). She led CCC Polkowice to a victory over one of league's weakest teams Widzew (1-11) crushing them 74-43 in the Polish PLKK in Saturday night's game. Berezhynska was MVP of the game. She scored 19 points and grabbed 6 rebounds in 21 minutes on the court. CCC Polkowice (10-1) is placed second in the PLKK. It's Berezhynska's first season with the team. This year Berezhynska averages: 9.1ppg, 3.6rpg, 1.4spg, 2FGP: 52.5% and FT: 78.1% in the 12 games she played so far. She played for the Ukrainian senior national team two years ago.

   #2. Second place goes to an international guard Olga Dubrovina (170-87, agency: LBM Management, currently plays in Bulgaria). Dubrovina was the major contributor in Neftochimic's victory against the fifth-ranked Montana 2003 (4-6) 73-64 in the Bulgarian NBL last Sunday. She scored 15 points, grabbed 7 rebounds and dished 6 assists. Neftochimic 2010 Burgas (10-0) is placed first in the NBL. So far her team won all ten games in the Regular Season. Dubrovina is currently second on the list of best passers and also on the list of most steals (third place). She has very reliable stats this season: 13.1ppg, 4.0rpg, 5.0apg, 2.3spg, 2FGP: 50.7%, 3FGP: 35.5% and FT: 77.4%. Dubrovina played for the Ukrainian national team in 2011.

   #3. The Ukrainian player who performed third best last week abroad was an international forward Katerina Dorogobuzova (190-90, also represented by LBM Management, currently plays in Hungary). She was the main contributor in Bacsbasket's victory against the second-ranked UNI Gyor (11-3) 78-73 in the Hungarian A Division on Sunday night. Dorogobuzova was the best player in that game. She recorded 20 points and grabbed 7 rebounds in 29 minutes. Bacsbasket Kft. Baja (7-7) is placed sixth in the A Division. There are only four games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. Dorogobuzova is ranked third on the list of the top scorers in the league with 15.9ppg. This year her other stats are: 5.2rpg, 1.5spg, 2FGP: 55.4%(77-139), 3FGP: 37.0% and FT: 69.6% in the 14 games. Dorogobuzova played for the Ukrainian national team one years ago.

   #4. Forward Olena Gulyamova (185-84, currently plays in Germany) contributed to Berlin's victory against the fifth-ranked Quakenbrueck Dragons (6-5) 67-60 in the German 2.Bundesliga (12th division) in Saturday night's game. She was the top player that evening. Gulyamova scored 18 points, grabbed 9 rebounds and dished 4 assists. ASV Moabit Berlin (9-2) is placed second in North group. Gulyamova's overall stats this season are: 7.7ppg, 5.6rpg and 1.8apg. She used to play for the Ukrainian national team back in 2006.

   #5. International center Viktoria Mircheva (190-87, currently plays in Eurocup), who plays in France could not help Nantes Reze (5-1) to beat Olimpia GrGAU (3-3). Mircheva scored 8 points, grabbed 6 rebounds and dished 3 assists in 20 minutes. The second-placed Nantes Reze lost 62-67 on the road to the second-ranked Olimpia GrGAU in the group D of Eurocup. Mircheva has relatively good stats this year: 12.6ppg, 5.3rpg and 1.6apg in the eight games. She has a dual citizenship: Ukrainian and Bulgarian. Mircheva plays currently for the Ukrainian national team.

   #6. Power forward Olesia Malashenko (189-91, another player represented by LBM Management, currently plays in Euroleague), who plays in France was not able to help the league outsider Arras (0-7) in their last game on Wednesday. Despite her good performance Arras (#7) was badly defeated 74-55 at home by the higher-ranked MKB Euroleasing (#6) in the group B of Euroleague. Malashenko was the top scorer with 14 points. Malashenko's overall stats this season are: 9.8ppg and 2.2rpg. She is a former international player as she played for the Ukrainian senior team two years ago.

   #7. International center Lyubov Alyoshkina (203-81, currently plays in Eurocup) faced previously mentioned Viktoria Mircheva in the Eurocup last game. Alyoshkina contributed to a Olimpia GrGAU's victory against the closely-ranked Nantes Reze (5-1) 67-62. She scored 8 points, grabbed 14 rebounds and made 2 blocks. Alyoshkina is ranked fifth on the list of the best rebounders in the league and also on the list of best blockers (third place). This season she has very good stats: 11.1ppg, 11.5rpg, 1.4apg and 2.6bpg. Alyoshkina is also Ukrainian national team player.

   #8. Center Aleksandra Khomenchuk (202-89, currently plays in Eurocup) was not able to secure a victory for Gorizont (2-2) in their game against Union Hainaut (5-1) in the Eurocup. Khomenchuk scored 8 points, grabbed 11 rebounds and made 3 blocks. Gorizont (#2) was defeated 62-52 in Saint-Amand by the leading Union Hainaut in the group E of Eurocup. Khomenchuk is currently seventh on the league's list of best rebounders and also on the list of best blockers (second place). Her overall stats this season are: 8.8ppg, 10.3rpg, 1.8apg and 2.7bpg. Khomenchuk used to play for the Ukrainian national team last year.


The list of other players, who all have Ukrainian passport but never been selected to any of Ukrainian national teams:

   #1. Katia Levitsky (190-PF-85, agency: Data Plus Group, college: Villanova, currently plays in Israel) contributed to an easy victory against the league outsider Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion (0-5) crushing them 79-53 in the Israeli D1 in Monday night's game. Levitsky scored 10 points, had 4 rebounds and made 2 blocks in 30 minutes. Elitzur Ramla (3-2) is placed third in the D1. But this is still an early stage of the season and everything may happen. Levitsky is currently second on the list of best blockers with 1.8bpg. She also averaged so far 10.2ppg, 5.6rpg and 2.2apg in the five games she played so far. Levitsky has a dual citizenship: Ukrainian and Israeli.

   #2. Yuliya Andreyeva (188-SF-83, currently plays in France), who plays in the French LFB could not help Nantes Reze (7-6) to beat Charleville-Mezieres (6-7). She recorded 9 points and added 3 assists. But Nantes Reze was defeated 84-71 on the road by the lower-ranked Charleville-Mezieres (#10). Andreyeva has been at the team for eight years. Andreyeva's overall stats this season are: 5.1ppg and 1.8rpg. She is another player who holds two passports: Ukrainian and French.

   #3. Anna Sokolan (178-G-84, currently plays in Bulgaria) contributed to Neftochimic's victory against the fifth-ranked Montana 2003 (4-6) 73-64 in the Bulgarian NBL on Sunday night. Sokolan scored 9 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 37 minutes. Neftochimic 2010 Burgas (10-0) is placed first in the NBL. So far her team won all ten games in the Regular Season. Sokolan is one of the most experienced players in a team as it's her seventh year in Neftochimic's roster. This season she has relatively solid stats: 11.3ppg, 4.2rpg, 1.9apg and 1.2spg in the 10 games. Sokolan has both Ukrainian and Russian nationalities.

   #4. Tatiana Shapochkina (179-G-85, currently plays in Eurocup) led her Belarusian team Olimpia GrGAU to a victory against the closely-ranked Nantes Reze (5-1) 67-62 in the Eurocup last Wednesday. She scored 11 points in 30 minutes. It was the game of the round between two top 2 ranked teams in group B. SBK Olimpia Grodno (3-3) is placed second. It was her team's third consecutive victory in a row. This year Shapochkina has relatively solid stats: 12.3ppg, 4.1rpg, 2.1apg and 1.9spg in the eight games. She also holds two passports: Ukrainian and Russian.

Greece - Ukraine 82:75 Greece celebrated the title at the Patras Tournament. They beat Ukraine on Friday to finish undefeated. Evanthia Maltsi (180-F-78, agency: ProDep Management) scored 27 points to pace the winning side. Greece grabbed a 19:15 lead after the opening frame. Ukraine quickly bounced back. Ukraine - Belarus 84:82 Ukraine narrowly defeated Belarus in the second game of the Patras Tournament in Greece. Alina Iagupova (186-G/F-92, agency: LBM Management) came up with 27 points to lead the winning side. Ukraine got to a strong start. They built a 22:13 advantage after ten minutes. Russia - Ukraine 73:67 Russia victoriously opened their campaign at the friendly tournament in Greece. They edged Ukraine in the opener. Maria Vadeeva (193-C-98) posted 23 points to lead the winners.
