Moore number one in Ukraine for round 30 - Dec 22, 2012

American forward Cameron Moore (208-F-90) had a very impressive game in the last round for second-ranked Ferro-ZNTU, receiving a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 30.
The 22-year old player had a double-double of 20 points and 14 rebounds, while his team beat Hoverla (#5, 12-10) 83-76. Ferro-ZNTU maintains the 2nd position in Ukrainian Superleague. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Ferro-ZNTU will need more victories to improve their 16-5 record. Moore turned to be Ferro-ZNTU's top player in his first season with the team. Former University of Alabama at Birmingham star has very solid stats this year. Moore leads league in rebounds with 8.9rpg. Moore is in league's top in and averages impressive 60.4% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was young American Jarrod Jones (205-F-90) of BC Kyiv. Jones had a very good evening with 27 points and 8 rebounds. Bad luck as BC Kyiv lost that game 69-88 to the higher-ranked Budivelnyk (#1, 17-5). BC Kyiv are still at the very bottom. 17 lost games are too many comparing to just five victories BC Kyiv managed to get this year. Jones is a newcomer at BC Kyiv, but is already one of team's top players.

Third on the list of top players last round was Serbian forward Vladan Vukosavljevic (206-F/C-84, agency: Beo Basket) of Halychyna (#6). Vukosavljevic scored 23 points and grabbed eighteen rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Halychyna, leading his team to a 70-59 win against the lower-ranked Kryvbasbasket (#10, 9-13). Halychyna needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 12 victories and 10 lost games. Vukosavljevic has a very solid season. In 22 games in Ukraine he scored 14.7ppg. He also has 8.8rpg and FGP: 53.6%.

5. Justin Love (189-G-78) of BC Odessa - 21 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists

7. Dainius Salenga (197-F-77) of Budivelnyk - 15 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists
8. Denis Ikovlev (201-SF-86) of Cherkasy - 18 points and 8 rebounds
9. Stanislav Balashov (210-C-79) of BC Odessa - 20 points and 4 rebounds
10. Daniel Werner (203-F-87) of Ferro-ZNTU - 12 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists

The Player of the week is choosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

SK Cherkasy Monkeys (Superleague) signed 31-year old American center Marvin Jefferson (206-107kg-86, college: Idaho). He played last season at Mugla Orman in Turkish TBL league. In 25 games he had 14.3ppg, 8.7rpg, 1.6apg and 1.9bpg. Jefferson also played that season for BM Slam Stal (also in TBL) where in 5 games he recorded 4.8ppg and 4.4rpg. Avantazh-Politekhnik Kharkov (Superleague) added to their roster 22-year old Serbian point guard Vuk Jovanovic (183-95). He played last season at Sloga in Serbian KLS league. In 15 games he recorded 11.8ppg, 2.6rpg, 3.3apg and 1.0spg. Jovanovic also played that season for The Ere (also in KLS) where in 11 games he averaged 14.4ppg, 2.5rpg and 3.2apg. BK Khimik-OPZ Yuhzny (Superleague) signed 30-year old forward Vitali Malchevskiy (203-98kg-87). It is actually his comeback to Yuzhny as he has played here before.
