Steven Burtt (185-G-84, college: Iona) leads Tofas over Khimik in one of the most interesting games of Top 16 openers in EuroChallenge. The Turkish representative got 20 points from the player in a 93:90 win.
The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 31-21. But Khimik won third quarter 25-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Tofas shot 62.5 percent from the field. Steven Burtt nailed 20 points for the winning side and Chinemelu Elonu (206-F/C-87, college: Texas A&M) accounted for 13 points and 8 rebounds. Can Altintig (195-G-87) followed them with 15 points in a win. Suad Sehovic (196-G/F-87) came up with 21 points and 9 rebounds and Devoe Devoe Joseph (193-G-90, agency: Interperformances, college: Oregon) added 17 points and 4 assists respectively for Khimik in the defeat. Willie Deane (188-PG-80, agency: Higher Vision Sports, college: Purdue) netted 19 and Vernon Goodridge (206-F-84, college: La Salle) brought 13.

Both teams stayed close to each other, Croatia won the first period 18-17, but then Ukraine replied with a 22-16 run.
