We bring you last week's top performances from Ukrainians who are playing abroad and who all have had prior experience of national team duties at youth or senior level.

   #1. This week's number one is former international power forward Serhiy Lishchuk (210-82, agency: Beo Basket, currently plays in Spain), who plays in the Spanish ACB. He could not help Valencia Basket (12-8) in their last game. Despite Lishchuk's very good performance Valencia Basket lost 75-79 on the road to the second-ranked Caja Laboral. He was the top scorer with 15 points. Lishchuk also added 6 rebounds in 24 minutes on the court. It was Valencia Basket's fourth consecutive loss in a row. It's Lishchuk's fourth season with the team. This year he averages: 6.7ppg, 3.3rpg, 2FGP: 54.8% in the 15 games he played so far. Lishchuk played for the Ukrainian senior national team two years ago.

Alex Len

   #2. Second place goes to U20 international center Alex Len (216-93, currently plays college basketball in the States). He led Maryland to an easy victory against the Wake Forest University (3-5) crushing them 86-60 in the NCAA last Saturday. Len scored 12 points, had 9 boards, handed out 3 passes and blocked 3 shots. The University of Maryland has 4-5 conference record this season. Len is currently sixth on the league's list of best rebounders and also on the list of best blockers (third place). His overall stats this season are: 6.7ppg, 3.3rpg, 2FGP: 54.8%. Len is in the roster of the Ukrainian U20 national team.

   #3. The Ukrainian player who performed third best last week abroad was former U20 international forward Maks Adam Konate (200-91, currently plays in Belarus). He led Svisloch to a victory over the closely-ranked Impuls BGUIR (7-10) crushing them 103-69 in the Belarusian Premier League on Friday night. Konate was MVP of the game. He scored 32 points (!!!) and grabbed 6 rebounds in 31 minutes. BK Svisloch Osipovichi (5-12) is placed sixth in the Premier League. Konate has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages: 18.0ppg, 10.4rpg, 2.6spg, 2FGP: 51.5%, 3FGP: 30.4% and FT: 12.5% in the five games. Konate played for the Ukrainian U20 national team three years ago.

   #4. Center Viacheslav Kravtsov (212-87, also represented by Beo Basket, currently plays in NBA) was not able to help the Detroit Pistons (18-29) in their game against the Indiana Pacers (28-19) in the NBA. He recorded only 4 points in 3 minutes on the court. The Detroit Pistons were badly defeated 98-79 in Indianapolis by the Indiana Pacers. This year Kravtsov averages just 2.3ppg in the four games. He is also Ukrainian national team player.

   #5. Former U20 international forward Vladyslav Kondratyev (203-90, currently studies in the States) contributed to an easy victory against the Monmouth University (3-7) 77-62 in the NCAA last Saturday. He scored 9 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. The Bryant University has quite an impressive 8-2 conference record this season. Kondratyev is one of the most experienced players in a team as it's his fourth year in Bryant's roster. Kondratyev has relatively good stats this season: 12.4ppg, 3.6rpg, 5.8apg and 1.8spg. He used to play for the Ukrainian U20 national team three years ago.

   #6. Point guard Oleksandr Dolenko (191-90, currently plays in Belarus) is a teammate of previously mentioned Maks Adam Konate and both played together in the last Belarusian Premier League game. Dolenko contributed to an easy victory against the closely-ranked Impuls BGUIR (7-10) crushing them 103-69. He scored 8 points, grabbed 8 boards, dished 5 assists and stole 4 balls. This season Dolenko has relatively solid stats: 13.4ppg, 5.4rpg, 4.8apg and 2.2spg. He is a former U20 international player as he played for the Ukrainian team three years ago.

Former University international guard Pavel Agapov (198-79, currently plays in Russia) contributed to an easy victory against the eighth-ranked TEMP-SUMZ Revda (9-9) 90-75 in the Russian Superleague (second division) on Saturday night. He recorded 9 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. Ataman Rostov (12-6) is placed fourth in the Superleague. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. Agapov's overall stats this season are: 5.9ppg and 2.9rpg. He used to play for the Ukrainian university national team ten years ago.

   #8. Power forward Roman Virastiuk (207-92, currently plays in France) was not able to secure a victory for Boulazac Basket (5-13) in their game against Entente Orleans 45 (9-9) in the French ProA. Virastiuk cannot count Saturday's game as one of the best ones. He scored only 2 points in 5 minutes on the court. It was his first game for Boulazac Basket this season. The bottom-ranked Boulazac Basket was badly defeated 93-75 in Orleans by the much higher-ranked (#7) Entente 45. It was Boulazac Basket's seventh consecutive loss in a row. Virastiuk plays currently for the Ukrainian U20 national team.

   #9. Former international guard Dmitri Dyatlovsky (196-85, agency: Promotex, currently plays in Baltic League) couldn't help the league outsider Barsy Atyrau (0-6) in their game against Pieno Zvaigzdes (2-1) in the Baltic League. He cannot count Saturday's game as one of the best ones. Dyatlovsky recorded only 3 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists in 35 minutes. The fourth-placed Barsy Atyrau lost 67-82 in Pasvalys to the higher-ranked (#3) Pieno Zvaigzdes in the group G of Baltic League. So far Barsy Atyrau lost all six games in the Top 16. The Top 16 already ended in the Baltic League. This year Dyatlovsky's overall stats are: 6.6ppg, 2.4rpg and 1.9apg in the 16 games. He used to play for the Ukrainian national team nine years ago.

   #10. Forward Yaroslav Skrypets (193-91, currently plays in Baltic League) is a teammate of previously mentioned Dmitri Dyatlovsky and both played together in the last Baltic League game. Skrypets couldn't help the league outsider Barsy Atyrau (0-6) in their game against Pieno Zvaigzdes (2-1). He recorded 8 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. Barsy Atyrau (#4) was defeated 82-67 in Pasvalys by the higher-ranked Pieno Zvaigzdes (#3) in the group G of Baltic League. It's Skrypets' first season with the team. Skrypets' total stats this year are: 2.3ppg and 1.8rpg. He is a former U16 international player as six years ago he still played for the Ukrainian national team.


The list of other players, who all have Ukrainian passport but never been selected to any of Ukrainian national teams:

   #1. Rinalds Sirsnins (186-PG-85, currently plays in Latvia) contributed to an easy victory against the league outsider U18 (1-11) crushing them 106-58 in the Latvian LBL in Monday night's game. He scored 8 points, had 4 rebounds and dished 11 assists. BK Jekabpils (13-8) is placed second in the LBL. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. It's Sirsnins' first season with the team. Sirsnins has relatively good stats this year: 13.1ppg, 4.9rpg, 6.5apg and 1.5spg.

   #2. Experienced Vitaliy Bliznyuk (206-C-79, currently plays in Belarus) was the major contributor in Grodno-93's victory against the closely-ranked Rubon (8-9) 67-57 in the Belarusian Premier League on Friday night. Bliznyuk scored 11 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. BK Grodno-93 (17-0) is placed first in the Premier League. So far his team won all seventeen games in the Regular Season. Bliznyuk's overall stats this season are: 7.5ppg and 4.5rpg.

   #3. Nikola Polyulyak (192-G-90, currently plays in Belarus) led Svisloch to an easy victory against the closely-ranked Impuls BGUIR (7-10) crushing them 103-69 in the Belarusian Premier League in Friday night's game. He had a double-double by scoring 21 points and making 14 passes. Polyulyak also added and 3 steals in 31 minutes. BK Svisloch Osipovichi (5-12) is placed sixth in the Premier League. Polyulyak has relatively good stats this year: 12.4ppg, 3.6rpg, 5.8apg and 1.8spg in the five games he played so far.

   #4. Igor Nesterenko (201-C/F-90, currently plays in Israel) led Elitzur Yavne to a victory against the ninth-ranked Hapoel Kfar Saba (5-10) 98-86 in the Israeli National League (second division) on Tuesday night. Nesterenko scored 12 points and grabbed 7 rebounds in 21 minutes. Elitzur Yavne (11-4) is placed fourth in the National League. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. This year Nesterenko has relatively solid stats: 10.4ppg and 5.7rpg in the 15 games. He has a dual citizenship: Ukrainian and Israeli. Despite Nesterenko's Ukrainian passport, he previously played for the Israeli U20 national team and is probably not eligible to play for the Ukrainian team.

   #5. Maksym Shtein (206-C-80, agency: Limelight Hoops, currently plays in Germany) contributed to a Weissenhorn Youngstars' victory against the tenth-ranked Dresden (6-11) 90-81 in the German ProB (third division) last Sunday. Shtein recorded 9 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 38 minutes. Weissenhorn Youngstars (11-6) is placed second in Group South. It's Shtein's first season with the team. This year his overall stats are: 7.6ppg, 5.3rpg and 1.8apg in the 16 games. Shtein is another player who holds two passports: Ukrainian and German.

   #6. Vadim Matyukevych (208-C-80, currently plays in Baltic League), who plays in Kazakhstan could not help the league outsider Barsy Atyrau (0-6) in their last game on Saturday. Despite his good performance the fourth-placed Barsy Atyrau was defeated 82-67 on the road by the higher-ranked Pieno Zvaigzdes (#3) in the group G of Baltic League. Matyukevych recorded 11 points. Matyukevych has reliable stats this season: 11.9ppg and 6.7rpg.

BK Khimik-OPZ Yuhzny (Superleague) signed 29-year old American center Jason Love (206-120kg-87, college: Xavier). He already started the season at TED Kolejliler in Turkish BSL league. In 6 games he had 6.2ppg, 4.2rpg and 1.0apg this season. The most of last season Love spent at Limburg United (Scooore League) in Belgium where in 24 games he recorded 10.0ppg and 4.3rpg. Sokhumi Tbilisi (Superleague) landed 27-year old Ukrainian center Oleksandr Tyshchenko (206-110kg-89). He already started the season at Kremen in Ukrainian Superleague. Acqua Vitasnella Cantu (Serie A) agreed terms with experienced 54-year old Ukrainian coach Kiril Bolshakov (agency: Octagon Europe). He coached most recently at Krasny Oktyabr in Russian VTB league. The previous (14-15) season Bolshakov coached at Zaporizhya (Superleague) in Ukraine. Among other achievements his team won Ukrainian Cup in 2013.
