Serbian Vladan Vukosavljevic (206-F/C-84, agency: Beo Basket) had a great game in the last round for Halychyna and that's him to receive a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 44. The 28-year old power forward had a double-double of 21 points and fourteen rebounds, while his team crushed Kryvbasbasket (#10, 12-18) with 23-point margin 90-67. Halychyna is placed at 3rd position in Ukrainian Superleague. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Halychyna will need more victories to improve their 19-12 record. It's Vukosavljevic's second year at Halychyna and it's hard to imagine this team without him. Vladan Vukosavljevic averages this season 16.1ppg and 9.9rpg.
The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 22-year old American forward Ryan Pearson (198-F-90) of Hoverla. Pearson impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 16 points and 10 rebounds. It was enough for Hoverla to edge the lower-ranked BC Odessa (#11, 11-19) by 2 points 75-73. Hoverla's 7th position in the standings has not changed. His team lost some distance to top teams. But 16-14 record is not bad and everything may still change. Pearson is a newcomer at Hoverla and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.
The third best performed player last round was Australian Daniel Kickert (208-C/F-83) of Dnipro (#12). Kickert scored 20 points and grabbed eleven rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Dnipro, leading his team to a 84-59 easy win against slightly lower-ranked BC Kyiv (#14, 6-25). The chances of Dnipro not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 19 games, recording just eleven victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Kickert could try to bring Dnipro's a little bit higher in the standings. Kickert has individually a great season in Ukraine. After 28 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 17.6ppg (2nd best). He also has FGP: 55.3% and 3PT: 45.7%.
Other top performing players last week: 4. Derrick Zimmerman (191-G-81) of DniproAzot - 14 points, 11 rebounds and 2 assists 5. Justin Love (189-G-78) of BC Odessa - 16 points, 9 rebounds and 3 assists 6. Sam Muldrow (205-F-88) of DniproAzot - 16 points and 11 rebounds 7. Darrel Mitchell (181-PG-84) of Halychyna - 24 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists 8. Anthony Goods (191-G-87) of BC Kyiv - 24 points, 2 rebounds and 3 assists 9. Cameron Moore (208-F-90) of Ferro-ZNTU - 9 points, 11 rebounds and 3 assists 10. Michailis Anisimovas (214-C-84) of Budivelnyk - 14 points and 7 rebounds
The Player of the week is choosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc. The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy. The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
