There are only two more rounds left in the Regular Season in Higher League. The fans could enjoy quite many interesting games in the last round. The round ended with defeat of the leader.

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked Dynamo (16-6) in Kyiv on Friday night. Hosts were defeated by second ranked Elizabeth-Basket (15-7) 94-90. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Dynamo. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. International swingman Alina Iagupova (186-92, agency: LBM Management) orchestrated the victory by scoring 45 points (!!!), 7 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals. The former international power forward Olena Zherzherunova (191-78, agency: LBM Management) contributed with 14 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. American guard Tyra White (182-89, college: Texas A&M) answered with 31 points and 6 rebounds for Dynamo. Elizabeth-Basket have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They maintain second place with 15-7 record behind leader Dynamo. Dynamo at the other side still keeps top position with six games lost. Elizabeth-Basket are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Frankivsk-Hal. (#6) at home in the next round. Dynamo will play against Interkhim (#4) in Odessa and is hoping to win this game.
Important game to mention about took place in Kyiv. First ranked Dynamo (16-6) saved a 2-point victory at home edging second-ranked Elizabeth-Basket (15-7) 70-68 in the game for the first place. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Elizabeth-Basket. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Guard Yevgeniya Spitkovska (175-88) stepped up and scored 9 points, 7 rebounds and 11 assists for the winners and Tyra White chipped in 18 points and 7 rebounds. International swingman Alina Iagupova (186-92, agency: LBM Management) responded with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 12 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals. Dynamo maintains first place with 16-6 record. Elizabeth-Basket at the other side keeps the second position with seven games lost. Dynamo will play against Interkhim (#4) in Odessa in the next round. Elizabeth-Basket will play at home against Frankivsk-Hal. and hopes to get back on the winning track.
The game in Frankivsk was also quite interesting. Third ranked Tim-Scuf (13-8) played at the court of 6th ranked Frankivsk-Hal. (1-16). Tim-Scuf defeated Frankivsk-Hal. 86-70 on Saturday. Krystyna Matsko nailed a double-double by scoring 32 points and 14 rebounds for the winning side. Olga Chernenko came up with 27 points and 6 rebounds for Frankivsk-Hal. in the defeat. Defending champion maintains third place with 13-8 record having four points less than leader Dynamo. Loser Frankivsk-Hal. stay at the bottom position with 16 games lost. Tim-Scuf will meet at home Bar Regina-B. (#5) in the next round. Frankivsk-Hal. will play against the league's second-placed Elizabeth-Basket in Kirovograd.

The best player for the winners was Miriam Uro-Nilie who scored 25 points and 9 rebounds. Defending champion maintains third place with 13-8 record having four points less than leader Dynamo. Frankivsk-Hal. at the other side stay at the bottom position with 16 games lost. Tim-Scuf's next round opponent will be Bar Regina-B. (#5) at home. Frankivsk-Hal. will play against the league's second-placed Elizabeth-Basket in Kirovograd.
The game in Bar was also quite interesting. 4th placed Interkhim (9-13) played at the court of fifth ranked Bar Regina-B. (8-12). Bar Regina-B. managed to secure a 7-point victory 82-75 on Saturday. Victoria Suzyk orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds. Bar Regina-B. maintains fifth place with 8-12 record. Interkhim lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the fourth position with 13 games lost. Bar Regina-B. will face higher ranked Tim-Scuf (#3) in Kyiv in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Interkhim will play at home against the league's leader Dynamo in Kyiv.

In the last two games of round 17 Interkhim beat Bar Regina-B. on the road 81-69. Tim-Scuf won against Bar Regina-B. on its own court 69-60.

Frankivsk-Hal. - Tim-Scuf 70-86

The game in Frankivsk was also quite interesting. Third ranked Tim-Scuf (13-8) played at the court of 6th ranked Frankivsk-Hal. (1-16). Tim-Scuf defeated Frankivsk-Hal. 86-70 on Saturday. Forward Krystyna Matsko (182-91) nailed a double-double by scoring 32 points and 14 rebounds for the winning side and center Miriam Uro-Nilie (190-94) accounted for 16 points and 9 rebounds. Guard Olga Chernenko (175-86) came up with 27 points and 6 rebounds and guard Katerina Polyanychka (178-90) added 14 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists respectively for Frankivsk-Hal. in the defeat. Defending champion maintains third place with 13-8 record having four points less than leader Dynamo. Loser Frankivsk-Hal. stay at the bottom position with 16 games lost. Tim-Scuf will meet at home Bar Regina-B. (#5) in the next round. Frankivsk-Hal. will play against the league's second-placed Elizabeth-Basket in Kirovograd.

Coincidentally all hosts won their games. The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Kyiv: Avangard (#1) and Dynamo-NPU (#4). Avangard (16-1) won against visiting Dynamo-NPU (9-8) 72-66. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Dynamo-NPU. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half.
