Traditionally, every week we bring you a list of the top performances of Ukrainians who are currently playing abroad.

   #1. This week's number one is an international forward Olexandra Kurasova (186-86, currently plays in Euroleague), who plays in Spain. She could not help Rivas Ecopolis in their last game. Despite Kurasova's very good performance Rivas Ecopolis lost 75-79 on the road to the lower-ranked (#9) Familia Schio. She was the top scorer with 24 points. Kurasova also added 7 rebounds in 39 minutes on the court. Kurasova has individually a very good year with high stats. She averages: 15.8ppg, 4.9rpg, 2FGP: 52.9%, 3FGP: 47.6%(20-42) and FT: 94.3%(33-35) in the 15 games she played so far. Kurasova is currently a member of the Ukrainian senior national team.

   #2. Second place goes to former international guard Olga Dubrovina (170-87, agency: LBM Management, currently plays in Bulgaria), who plays in the Bulgarian NBL. She was not able to help Neftochimic (17-1) in their last game on Saturday. Despite Dubrovina's very good performance the league leader Neftochimic was defeated 84-80 in Haskovo by the lower-ranked 2012 (#3). She was the second best scorer with 16 points. Dubrovina also added 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Dubrovina is ranked second on the list of the best passers in the league and also on the list of most steals (third place). She has very reliable stats this season: 14.4ppg, 4.2rpg, 5.4apg, 2.2spg, 2FGP: 45.1%, 3FGP: 31.3% and FT: 84.6%. Dubrovina played for the Ukrainian national team in 2011.

   #3. The Ukrainian player who performed third best last week abroad was former international center Aleksandra Khomenchuk (202-89, currently plays in Baltic League). She led her Belarusian team Gorizont to a victory over the closely-ranked Eclex Tallinn (1-2) 86-76 in the Baltic League on Sunday night. Khomenchuk was MVP of the game. She had a double-double by scoring 26 points and getting 18 rebounds. Khomenchuk also added 3 blocks and 3 steals in 31 minutes. BK Gorizont Minsk (2-1) is placed second in group A. There are only three games left until the end of the Baltic League Second Stage. So now every game will be critical. Khomenchuk has very impressive stats this year: 15.3ppg, 13.0rpg, 1.7bpg, 1.7spg, 2FGP: 46.9% and FT: 69.6% in the three games. She has a dual citizenship: Russian and Ukrainian. Former Tim-Scuf Kyiv starter played for the Ukrainian national team two years ago.

   #4. Center Lyubov Alyoshkina (203-81, currently plays in Baltic League) was the main contributor in a Olimpia GrGAU's victory against the closely-ranked Kibirkstis-Tiche (2-1) 77-72 in the Baltic League in Wednesday night's game. Alyoshkina was the best player in that game. She scored 20 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. It was the game of the round between two top 2 ranked teams in group B. SBK Olimpia Grodno (3-0) is placed first. So far her team won all three games in the Second Stage. There are only three games left until the end of the Baltic League Second Stage. So now every game is very crucial. Alyoshkina has relatively good stats this season: 13.7ppg and 9.3rpg. She is another player who holds two passports: Russian and Ukrainian. Alyoshkina is also Ukrainian national team player.

   #5. Former international power forward Olga Maznichenko (190-91, also represented by LBM Management, currently plays in Italy), who plays in the Italian A1 was not able to secure a victory for Pall.Pozzuoli (4-12) in their last game. Despite her good performance Pall.Pozzuoli was edged 89-86 on the opponent's court by the higher-ranked (#3) Parma. Maznichenko was the second best scorer with 14 points. She also added 4 steals in 24 minutes. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be important. This year Maznichenko has relatively solid stats: 12.3ppg, 6.5rpg and 1.6spg in the 11 games. She used to play for the Ukrainian national team two years ago.

   #6. Swingman Olena Samburska (172-89, another player represented by LBM Management, currently plays in Bulgaria) was the major contributor in a 1-point Montana 2003's victory against one of league's weakest teams Beroe (5-13) 61-60 in the Bulgarian NBL in Saturday night's game. She recorded 16 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 37 minutes. Montana 2003 (8-10) is placed fourth in the NBL. It was her team's third consecutive victory in a row. Samburska has reliable stats this year: 13.1ppg, 3.0rpg, 3.1apg and 1.7spg in the seven games. She is an international player who is currently on the senior Ukrainian National Team roster.

   #7. Former international power forward Olesia Malashenko (189-91, another player represented by LBM Management, currently plays in France) couldn't help Arras (5-15) in their game against Tarbes (12-8) in the French LFB. She scored 9 points in 25 minutes. But Arras was badly defeated 97-77 on the opponent's court by the much higher-ranked (#4) Tarbes. This year Malashenko's overall stats are: 9.5ppg and 3.5rpg in the 11 games. She used to play for the Ukrainian national team three years ago.

   #8. Center Viktoria Mircheva (190-87, currently plays in France) managed to help Nantes Reze Basket in a victory against the league outsider Union Hainaut (5-16) 60-55 in the French LFB last Friday. She scored only 1 points in 8 minutes on the court. Nantes Reze Basket (10-11) is placed seventh in the LFB. They ended the series of four consecutive loses. This year Mircheva's total stats are: 7.2ppg and 3.3rpg in the 20 games. She plays currently for the Ukrainian national team.


The list of other players, who all have Ukrainian passport but never been selected to any of Ukrainian national teams:

   #1. Anna Sokolan (178-G-84, currently plays in Bulgaria), who plays in the Bulgarian NBL could not help Neftochimic (17-1) to beat Haskovo 2012 (9-9). Sokolan recorded 8 points. The league leader Neftochimic was defeated 84-80 on the road by the lower-ranked Haskovo 2012 (#3). It's Sokolan's seventh season with the team. Her overall stats this year are: 9.7ppg, 3.2rpg and 1.9apg. Sokolan has a dual citizenship: Ukrainian and Russian.

   #2. Tatiana Shapochkina (179-G-85, currently plays in Belarus), who plays in the Belarusian Premier League was not able to help Olimpia GrGAU (16-2) in their last game on Friday. Despite Shapochkina's good performance the first-placed Olimpia GrGAU was defeated 57-53 on the opponent's court by the second-ranked Tsmoki-Minsk in the Group A. She was the second best scorer with 13 points. Shapochkina also added 4 rebounds. The Second Stage already ended. Shapochkina belongs to league's top scorers (ranked #8) and also on the list of most steals (first place). This season she has very good stats: 13.2ppg, 5.3rpg, 2.1apg and 3.0spg. Shapochkina is another player who holds two passports: Ukrainian and Russian.

   #3. Yuliya Andreyeva (188-SF-83, currently plays in France) managed to help Nantes Reze Basket to win against the league outsider Union Hainaut (5-16) 60-55 in the French LFB in Friday night's game. Andreyeva scored 5 points. Nantes Reze Basket (10-11) is placed seventh in the LFB. It was her team's first victory after four consecutive loses. It's Andreyeva's eighth season with the team. Her total stats this year are: 5.2ppg and 1.9rpg. Andreyeva has both Ukrainian and French nationalities.

Atwater number one in Ukraine for round 17 - 5 days ago
American Point guard Kaneisha Atwater (170-PG-92) put on an amazing game in the last round for Dynamo-NPU, receiving a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 17. The 24-year old player had a double-double of 24 points and 14 rebounds, while her team beat Blyskavky (#5, 11-10) 79-66. Dynamo-NPU maintains the 4th position in Ukrainian Superleague. The teams have now bigger motivation at this stage of Regular Season. Every game can be crucial and decide about teams' position at the end of Regular Season. There was no lack of interesting games this round. The round ended with change at the leadership position and extra overtimes. There was a change at the Superleague leadership position after last games. Round 17 most important game was a defeat of league's leader Tim-Scuf (17-2).
