The most important game in the last round took place in Lutsk between second ranked Khartsyzsk (19-4) and fourth ranked VolinBasket (13-8) on Saturday night. Khartsyzsk was defeated by VolinBasket on the road 81-67. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Khartsyzsk. VolinBasket forced 19 Khartsyzsk turnovers. Power forward Vadim Reka (206-83) scored 13 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and forward Artem Shelukha (198-87) chipped in 13 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Center Sergei Sabutskyy (208-86, agency: TSS Management) responded with 9 points. Khartsyzsk's coach Vladimir Bryaukhavetshy rotated eleven players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. VolinBasket maintains fourth position with 13-8 record. Khartsyzsk at the other side keeps the second place with four games lost. VolinBasket are again looking forward to face league's second-placed Khartsyzsk in Donetsk in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Khartsyzsk will have a break next round.
Higher League top team - Musson (22-3) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed eighth ranked Kirovograd (8-17) in Symferopil 76-45. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Kirovograd. Russian center Dmitri Lipovtsev (207-86) notched 16 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the effort and Roman Legonkov supported him with 12 points and 6 rebounds. Even 9 points and 5 rebounds by guard Maxym Vorobjov (192-91) did not help to save the game for Kirovograd. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Musson have a solid three-game winning streak. Newly promoted Musson maintains first position with 22-3 record. Kirovograd at the other side keeps the eighth place with 17 games lost. Musson will again play against Kirovograd (#8) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Kirovograd will have a break next round.
Bottom-ranked Ternopil-TNEU (0-20) is still winless. This time they lost on the road their 20th consecutive match to fifth ranked Tornado (11-12) 101-49 on Saturday evening. The best player for the winners was Oleksandr Gudkov who had a double-double by scoring 14 points and 20 rebounds. Tornado's coach felt very confident that he used 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Evgeni Beruk produced 7 points and 13 rebounds for the guests. Tornado maintains fifth position with 11-12 record. Loser Ternopil-TNEU still closes the standings. Tornado will again meet at home bottom-ranked Ternopil-TNEU (#10) in the next round where they are favorite. Ternopil-TNEU will have a break next round.
The game in Rovno was also worth to mention about. Third ranked Avantazh-Politekhnik (18-3) played at the court of 6th ranked BC-93 Pulsar (10-13). Avantazh-Politekhnik defeated BC-93 Pulsar 91-76. Anton Rochnyak orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds. Avantazh-Politekhnik's coach Valentin Kulibaba allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Avantazh-Politekhnik have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 18-3 record having 4 victories less than leader Musson. BC-93 Pulsar at the other side keeps the sixth place with 13 games lost. Avantazh-Politekhnik will have a break next round. BC-93 Pulsar will play again at home against Avantazh-Politekhnik (#3) in Kharkov.

In the last game of round 26 Koksokh-Stal lost to BK Kremen on the opponent's court 82-88.


VolinBasket - Khartsyzsk 81-67

There was a minor upset in Kremenchuk where 7th ranked Koksokh-Stal (9-14) was defeated by ninth ranked BK Kremen (2-18) 88-82. BK Kremen dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Koksokh-Stal's 36. Strangely Koksokh-Stal outrebounded BK Kremen 45-29 including a 17-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. 25 personal fouls committed by Koksokh-Stal helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Center Gleb Glebov (208-82) orchestrated the victory by scoring 15 points and 8 rebounds. Guard Denis Cherginsekiy (194-90) contributed with 18 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Five BK Kremen players scored in double figures. Swingman Boris Bereziuk (196-87) replied with 34 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds and power forward Jan Selivanov (200-79) added 20 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for Koksokh-Stal. Koksokh-Stal's coach Aleksander Bezuglov tested ten players in this game, but that didn't help. BK Kremen maintains ninth position with 2-18 record. Koksokh-Stal at the other side keeps the seventh place with 14 games lost. BK Kremen's next round opponent will be again higher ranked Koksokh-Stal (#7) in Alchevsk and it may be quite challenging game.

Bipa Basket Odessa (Superleague) strengthened their roster with addition of 24-year old small forward Olexandr Furs (201-107kg-93) from VolinBasket. In 20 Superleague games he recorded 6.2ppg, 4.3rpg and 1.9apg this season. The most of last season Furs spent at Dynamo (SL Favorit Sport) where in 39 games he averaged 3.8ppg, 2.1rpg and 1.0apg. Coincidentally all hosts won their games. An interesting game for Hoverla (12-2) which hosted in Frankivsk 4th ranked BC-93 Pulsar (8-6). First ranked Hoverla had an easy win 90-50.
