D.J.
Stephens
American Swingman D.J. Stephens (198-G/F-90) had a very impressive game in the last round for top-ranked Budivelnyk, receiving a Court Side Player of the Week award for round 30.
The 26-year old player was the main contributor (17 points, nine rebounds and four assists) to his team's victory, helping them to crush Bipa Basket (#4, 13-11) with 22-point margin 81-59. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. It allowed Budivelnyk to consolidate first place in the Ukrainian Superleague. Budivelnyk has a very good season and are considered to have a run for the championship title. They improved their record to 22-2. Stephens turned to be Budivelnyk's top player in his first season with the team. D.J. Stephens averages this season 13.0ppg and 7.0rpg.

The second best player in last round's games was 27-year old former international forward Stanislav Tymofeyenko (202-F-89, agency: Octagon Europe) of Dnipro. Tymofeyenko had a very good evening with 19 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists. Of course he led Dnipro to another comfortable win 65-51 over the lower-ranked VolinBasket (#9, 4-20) being unquestionably team leader. Dnipro's 3rd position in the standings has not changed. His team's 17-6 record is not bad at all. Tymofeyenko is a newcomer at Dnipro, but is already one of team's top players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 15.3ppg (#6). His other stats are also decent: 8.3rpg and 3.3apg.

Third on the list of top players last round was former international swingman Oleksandr Kolchenko (195-G/F-88, agency: AproK Sports Group) of Cherkasy (#5). Kolchenko scored 25 points. He was a key player of Cherkasy, leading his team to a 84-83 win against the higher-ranked Khimik (#2, 19-4). Cherkasy needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 12 victories and 11 lost games. Kolchenko has a great season in Ukraine. After 10 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in assists with 4.2apg (9th best). He also has FGP: 56.0% and 3PT: 42.9%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Denis Ivanov (195-G/F-78) of Mykolaiv - 22 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists
5. Viacheslav Petrov (204-F/C-94) of Khimik - 14 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists
6. Anatoly Chelovan (208-C-91) of Bipa Basket - 19 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists
7. Jaime Smith (190-PG-89) of Khimik - 21 points and 5 assists
8. Sergiy Zagreba (214-C-94) of Dnipro - 11 points, 10 rebounds and 2 assists
9. Artem Shvets (201-F/C-85) of Mykolaiv - 12 points and 6 rebounds
10. Jared Stolicker (208-C) of Avantazh-Polit. - 10 points and 11 rebounds

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

The Player of the Week awards are presented by Court Side. Court Side is the global leader in basketball management, and is widely regarded as the most dynamic and innovative company of its kind. It was the first Basketball Agency to launch its own website, and the first to have its own database. Court Side has more agents and manpower within its organization, than any other competitor, and its international network of basketball contacts is still unparalleled.
