There will be only one (last) round of the Regular Season in Higher League. The round was rather attractive and full of interesting results. The round ended with extra overtimes, favorites losing the games and games ending by tiny margin.

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Khimik-2 as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Khimik-2 smashed bottom-ranked KPZO DYUSH in Yuzhny 97-58. The game without a history. Khimik-2 led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding KPZO DYUSH to just 6 points in first quarter. Khimik-2 dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to KPZO DYUSH's 28. Khimik-2 forced 19 KPZO DYUSH turnovers and outrebounded them 49-34 including a 34-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Khimik-2 made 8 blocks. Iliya Shavgarov (-0) fired 5 points and 16 assists for the winners. Forward Maksym Nikolenko (196-98) chipped in 15 points and 8 rebounds. point guard Yuriy Strizhevskiy (180-92) produced 16 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Khimik-2 (19-5) have an impressive series of ten victories in a row. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Newly promoted KPZO DYUSH still closes the standings with 21 games lost.

Other games of round 19 were quite predictable and ended without any surprises. Here they are:
Politekhn.Lvov crushed Ternopil-TNEU in Lviv 87-67. Ch.Mavpy 2 beat BC-93 RSzVSM at home 80-67. Zolotoi Vek won against Niko-Basket on the opponent's court 76-75. Krivbas-2 outscored Kremen-2 in a home game 93-57. Politekhn.Lvov managed to beat Ternopil-TNEU on the road 102-88. Khimik-2 crushed KPZO DYUSH on its own court 83-56. BC-93 RSzVSM beat Ch.Mavpy 2 in Rovno 74-66. Krivbas-2 won against Kremen-2 at home 94-80. Zolotoi Vek managed to outperform Niko-Basket on the opponent's court 83-71. SumDU managed to beat Azovmash in a home game 74-70.
The best stats of 19th round was 19 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists by Dmytro Khodov of Politekhn.Lvov.

Ternopil-TNEU - Politekhn.Lvov 67-87

There was no surprise when 5th ranked Ternopil-TNEU (10-12) was crushed at home by third ranked Politekhn.Lvov (16-5) 87-67 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 11-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 87-67. Politekhn.Lvov looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Forward Dmytro Khodov (203-87) fired 19 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Forward Maksym Tiutiunyk (190-92) chipped in 15 points. Politekhn.Lvov's coach Yaroslav Zubrytskyy used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 20-12. But Niko-Basket won second period 22-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Niko-Basket - Zolotoi Vek 71-83

Rather expected game in Mykolaiv where 4th placed Niko-Basket (9-13) was defeated by first ranked Zolotoi Vek (19-3) 83-71 on Saturday. The game without a history. Zolotoi Vek led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Zolotoi Vek forced 22 Niko-Basket turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Niko-Basket's players. Forward Olexandr Drobiazko (196-93, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) fired a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Power forward Andriy Kulish (205-92) chipped in a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds. Swingman Maksym Ozhegov (190-90) produced 21 points and forward Maxim Nikitin (201-89) added 16 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side. Niko-Basket's coach Valentin Berestnev rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. The victory was the fourteenth consecutive win for Zolotoi Vek. They maintain first place with 19-3 record. Niko-Basket lost their third game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the fourth position with 13 games lost. Zolotoi Vek will face Dnipro-2 (#3) in Dnepropetrovsk in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Niko-Basket will play on the road against Kremen-2 in Kremenchuk and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

SumDU - Azovmash 74-70

There was a small surprise in Sumy where fifth ranked SumDU (4-18) beat much higher ranked Azovmash (15-9) 74-70 on Friday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 17-13. But Azovmash won second period 14-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. SumDU looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Point guard Igor Starodub (188-97) fired 15 points, 8 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Forward Oleksiy Taskinov (201-82) chipped in a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds. Guard Yevgen Bumbur (193-93) produced 23 points and forward Oleksiy Momotenko (203-92) added 10 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for lost side. Azovmash's coach Sergei Zavalin tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. SumDU maintains fifth place with 4-18 record. Azovmash at the other side keeps the second position with nine games lost. SumDU will face league's leader Krivbas-2 in Kryvyi Rih in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.

The Regular Season in Superleague just ended. Host teams show no mercy winning all games. Leader Budivelnyk delivered the twenty fifth victory on Saturday night.
