We bring you last week's top performances from Ukrainians who are playing abroad and who all have had prior experience of national team duties at youth or senior level.

   #1. This week's number one is an international center Kyrylo Fesenko (216-86, currently plays in Basketball Champions League). He could not help Scandone AV (10-4) in their last game. Despite Fesenko's good performance the second-placed Scandone AV (10-4) lost 68-72 at home to the lower-ranked (#3) Umana Venezia in the group D of Basketball Champions League. He had a double-double by scoring 12 points and getting 16 rebounds. Fesenko also added 2 blocks in 30 minutes on the court. It's Fesenko's first season with the team. This year he averages: 9.7ppg, 8.1rpg, 2FGP: 58.3%(60-103) and FT: 58.3% in 16 games he played so far. Ex-BC Donetsk player is currently a member of the Ukrainian senior national team.

   #2. Second place goes to an international swingman Sergii Gladyr (196-88, agency: BeoBasket, currently plays in France). Gladyr led Monaco to a victory over the closely-ranked Chalon/Saor (16-6) 82-72 in the French ProA last Sunday. He was MVP of the game. Gladyr scored 12 points. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. AS Monaco Basket (19-3) is placed first in the ProA. It was his team's tenth consecutive victory in a row. Gladyr's overall stats this season are: 10.0ppg, 2.5rpg, 1.2apg, 1.3spg, 3FGP: 44.1% and FT: 77.8%. He is in the roster of the Ukrainian senior national team.

   #3. The Ukrainian player who performed third best last week abroad was former international forward Denis Ikovlev (200-86, college: Nevada, currently plays in Poland). Ikovlev contributed to a PGE Turow's victory against one of league's weakest teams AZS Polfarmex (4-19) 109-98 in the Polish PLK on Saturday night. He recorded 20 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists and made 3 blocks in 40 minutes. PGE Turow Zgorzelec (13-11) is placed eighth in the PLK. Ikovlev has relatively good stats this year: 11.5ppg, 3.4rpg, 3.3apg, 2FGP: 56.7%(51-90), 3FGP: 35.6% and FT: 88.7% in 23 games. He is a naturalized American. Ikovlev played for the Ukrainian national team four years ago. Strangely he has never played in Ukraine.

Steven Burtt

   #4. An experienced guard Steven Burtt (189-84, college: Iona, currently plays in Greece) was not able to help Apollon Patras (5-16) in their last game on Saturday. Despite Burtt's very good performance Apollon Patras was defeated 71-67 on the road by the higher-ranked Koroivos (#11). He was the top scorer with 22 points. Burtt also added 6 rebounds and dished 5 assists. Burtt has individually a very good season with high stats. He averages: 16.3ppg, 2.5rpg and 2.3apg. Burtt is a naturalized American. He used to play for the Ukrainian national team back in 2012. Burtt played also for Ferro-ZNTU Zaporozhye in Ukrainian league.

   #5. Former U16 international center Maksym Kozlovets (205-90, currently plays in Belarus) helped COR-Borisfen win their game against one of league's weakest teams GOCOR-Sozh (3-25) 94-80 in the Belarusian Premier League last Saturday. He had a double-double by scoring 12 points and getting the same number of rebounds. Kozlovets also added 6 assists in 30 minutes. COR-Borisfen Mogilev (24-2) is placed second in the Premier League. It was his team's fourth consecutive victory in a row. Kozlovets has very impressive stats this year: 17.3ppg, 8.9rpg, 2.2apg and 1.6spg in 21 games. He used to play for the Ukrainian U16 national team eleven years ago.

   #6. Center Alex Len (216-93, college: Maryland, currently plays in NBA) was not able to secure a victory for the Phoenix Suns (22-44) in their game against the Washington Wizards (41-24) in the NBA. Len scored 8 points, had 11 rebounds and made 4 blocks. The Phoenix Suns (22-44) were defeated 131-127 in Washington by the Wizards. Len is one of the most experienced players in a team as it's his fourth year in Suns' roster. This season he has relatively solid stats: 7.5ppg, 6.3rpg and 1.2bpg. Len is a former international player as he played for the Ukrainian senior team two years ago.

   #7. International power forward Maxym Korniyenko (205-87, also represented by BeoBasket, currently plays in Bulgaria) was the main contributor in a 3-point Lukoil Academic Sofia's victory against the sixth-ranked Balkan (9-10) 62-59 in the Bulgarian NBL in Saturday night's game. He was the best player in that game. Korniyenko had a double-double by scoring 14 points and getting 15 rebounds in 26 minutes. Lukoil Academic Sofia (16-3) is placed first in the NBL. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. Korniyenko has reliable stats this year: 12.0ppg, 7.3rpg and 1.6apg in 18 games. He is also Ukrainian national team player.

   #8. Power forward Andriy Agafonov (208-86, agency: AproK Sports Group, currently plays in Lithuania) couldn't help P.Zvaigzdes (11-15) in their last game on Saturday. Despite Agafonov's good performance P.Zvaigzdes was defeated 86-74 in Prienai by the higher-ranked Vytautas (#5). He was the second best scorer with 14 points. Agafonov also added 2 blocks. Agafonov averaged so far 12.0ppg, 5.1rpg, 1.3apg and 1.3bpg. He used to play for the Ukrainian national team back in 2012.

   #9. International center Artem Pustovyi (218-92, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov, currently plays in Spain) couldn't help Blusens Monbus (6-16) in their last game. Despite Pustovyi's very good performance Blusens Monbus was crushed 85-59 on the opponent's court by the higher-ranked (#12) Zaragoza. He was the top scorer with 17 points in 23 minutes. This year Pustovyi's overall stats are: 8.5ppg and 2.9rpg in 23 games. He is also in the roster of the Ukrainian national team.

Point guard Jerome Randle (175-87, college: California, currently plays in France) was the major contributor in a Limoges CSP Elite's victory against the 16th-ranked Olympique Antibes (7-15) crushing them 95-66 in the French ProA in Saturday night's game. Randle recorded 16 points and added 3 passes (made all of his five free throws). Limoges CSP Elite (11-11) is placed ninth in the ProA. Randle averaged so far 11.5ppg and 7.0apg. He is a naturalized American. Randle is a former international player as two years ago he still played for the Ukrainian senior national team. He used to play for 90.2%; in Feb.'12 agreed terms with Azovmash Mariupol in Ukrainian league.

   #11. Former U20 international center Vladislav Korenyuk (210-94, agency: Octagon Europe, currently plays in Lithuania) couldn't help one of league's weakest teams Siauliai (3-23) in their last game. Despite Korenyuk's very good performance the bottom-ranked Siauliai was crushed 86-56 in Kedainiai by the one of league's weakest teams (#9) Nevezis. He was the top scorer with 22 points. Korenyuk also added 6 rebounds in 32 minutes. Korenyuk's stats this year are: 14.4ppg and 5.8rpg in 12 games. He used to play for the Ukrainian U20 national team three years ago.

   #12. International guard Oleksandr Lypovyy (200-91, currently plays in Greece) couldn't help Aiolos Trikallon (8-13) in their last game. Despite Lypovyy's good performance Aiolos Trikallon lost 86-97 in Thessaloniki to the higher-ranked (#5) PAOK. He scored 12 points in 21 minutes. This year Lypovyy's total stats are: 9.8ppg, 3.4rpg and 1.9apg in 20 games. He is also in the roster of the Ukrainian national team.

   #13. Former University international point guard Illya Shemosiuk (188-85, currently plays in Georgia) couldn't help one of league's weakest teams Batumi (7-14) in their last game. Despite Shemosiuk's very good performance Batumi lost 74-83 on their home court in Batumi to the higher-ranked (#6) Olimpi. He was the top scorer with 25 points. Shemosiuk also added 4 rebounds in 32 minutes. Shemosiuk has very impressive stats this year: 16.9ppg, 4.6rpg, 2.9apg and 1.5spg in 19 games. He used to play for the Ukrainian university national team eight years ago.

   #14. Former international forward Joel Bolomboy (206-94, college: Weber St., currently plays in NBA) couldn't help the Utah Jazz in their game against the Oklahoma City Thunder in the NBA. Bolomboy recorded 8 points. His team was defeated 112-104 in the NBA. Bolomboy has averaged so far 1.6ppg and 1.2rpg. He is a naturalized American. Bolomboy used to play for the Ukrainian national team back in 2015. Apparently he has never played in Ukraine.

   #15. Former international guard Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk (203-97, currently plays college basketball in the States), who plays in the NCAA couldn't help the Kansas (10-3) in their last game on Thursday. Despite his very good performance the Kansas were edged 85-82 in Fort Worth by the Texas Christian University. Mykhailiuk scored 18 points. Mykhailiuk has averaged so far 9.5ppg, 3.1rpg and 1.3apg. He used to play for the Ukrainian national team three years ago.


The list of other players, who all have Ukrainian passport but never been selected to any of Ukrainian national teams:

   #1. Bogdan Bliznyuk (198-F-95, currently plays college basketball in the States), who plays in the NCAA could not help the E.Washington (13-5) in their last game on Friday. Despite Bliznyuk's very good performance the E.Washington was defeated 80-72 on the road by the Weber State University. He recorded 32 points (!!!) and grabbed 8 rebounds. The Regular Season already ended in the NCAA. Bliznyuk has individually a very good season with high stats. He averages: 20.9ppg, 6.6rpg, 3.9apg and 1.1spg.

   #2. Dmitri Paliashchuk (199-SG-85, agency: Interperformances, currently plays in Belarus) led BSEU-GrandPrint to an easy victory against one of league's weakest teams GOCOR-Sozh (3-25) crushing them 108-55 in the Belarusian Premier League last Saturday. Paliashchuk recorded a double-double by scoring 17 points and getting 14 rebounds. He also added 7 assists and 3 steals. BSEU-GrandPrint (11-18) is placed sixth in the Premier League. It was his team's fifth consecutive victory in a row. There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. Paliashchuk averaged so far 11.5ppg and 7.0rpg. He has a dual citizenship: Ukrainian and Belarusian.

   #3. Igor Krivtsov (201-F-86, currently plays in Georgia) was not able to help one of league's weakest teams Batumi (7-14) in their last game. Despite Krivtsov's very good performance Batumi lost 74-83 at home to the higher-ranked (#6) Olimpi. He was the second best scorer with 19 points. Krivtsov also added 9 rebounds in 36 minutes. It was Batumi's third consecutive loss in a row. The Regular Season already ended. Krivtsov averaged so far 11.4ppg, 6.3rpg, 1.2apg and 1.1spg in 19 games he played so far.

   #4. Ivan Kaliayev (200-F-87, currently plays in Belarus) was not able to secure a victory for Grodno-93 (25-3) in their game against Tsmoki II (18-9) in the Belarusian Premier League. Kaliayev recorded 6 points and grabbed 6 rebounds in 31 minutes. The league leader Grodno-93 was badly defeated 103-83 in Minsk by the lower-ranked (#3) Tsmoki II. There are only four games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial. Kaliayev has averaged so far 9.7ppg, 4.3rpg, 3.3apg and 1.4spg in 27 games.

   #5. Yurii Frasenyuk (200-F-86, currently plays in Romania) couldn't help Steaua CSM (13-8) in their game against Oradea (11-10) in the Romanian Liga Nationala. He scored 9 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. But Steaua CSM (#3) was defeated 80-72 on the opponent's court by the lower-ranked Oradea (#4) in the Places 1-6 group. Frasenyuk has averaged so far 5.3ppg and 2.3rpg. He is another player who holds two passports: Ukrainian and Romanian.

   #6. Anton Savitski (196-F-86, currently plays in Spain) led Ardoi to a victory against the 11th-ranked Univ.Burgos 60-50 in the Spanish EBA (fourth division) in Sunday night's game. Savitski recorded 12 points and added 3 passes in 25 minutes. Savitski has very impressive stats this year: 15.4ppg, 9.2rpg and 2.0apg in 16 games. He has both Ukrainian and Spanish nationalities.

   #7. Artem Shelukha (198-F-87, currently plays in Germany) contributed to an easy victory against the third-ranked Oldenburg 84-69 in the German ProB (third division) last Saturday. Shelukha recorded 8 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. Shelukha has averaged so far 3.5ppg and 1.8rpg. He also holds two passports: Ukrainian and German.

   #8. Yaroslav Fomichov (196-F/G-94, currently plays in Poland) couldn't help AZS PCz (4-20) in their last game. Despite Fomichov's good performance AZS PCz (#13) was crushed 88-43 on the opponent's court by the higher-ranked (#7) Przemysl in the Group C. He was the second best scorer with 10 points. Fomichov also added 6 rebounds in 26 minutes. Fomichov has averaged so far 9.8ppg, 5.2rpg, 1.3apg and 1.1spg in 15 games.

   #9. Anton Zraychenko (190-SF-97, currently plays in Germany) managed to help ART Giants Duesseldorf in a victory against the 12th-ranked Frintrop crushing them 97-77 in the German Regionalliga (fourth division) on Saturday night. He scored only 2 points in 15 minutes. Zraychenko has averaged so far 2.4ppg and 2.5rpg in 17 games.

   #10. Alex Chernushevych (190-G-93, currently plays in Israel) contributed to a 2-point Hapoel B/S's victory against the league outsider Ironi Ramat Gan 86-84 in the Israeli National League (second division) in Tuesday night's game. He recorded only 3 points and added 3 passes. Chernushevych has averaged so far 2.6ppg, 1.1rpg and 1.1apg. He has dual citizenship: Ukrainian and Israeli.

Obradoiro and Artem Pustovyi (218-C-92, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) have agreed on terms of contract extension. The Ukrainian centre will stay with the team through 2019. Artem Pustovyi joined the Spanish team in 2015. He notched 9.3 points and 3.3 rebounds per game in ACB last season. Previously Artem Pustovyi played for Khimik Yuzhny. Politekhn.Lvov - Hoverla 77-79 Hoverla defeated Polotekhnik Lvov in Game 2 and swept Final series for the title! The guests trailed by 10 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 3-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 79-77.
